Whatever you do, do NOT donate them to my local thrift stores. That would be bad for my house.

I only made 1 purchase in June. I think I might be cured.

I mean, sure, it was an omnibus, so under my system it counted as two books, and I have no idea when I'm going to read them, but that one purchase plus my Kindle Lending Library loan were my only gains last month. I didn't even bother with a Kindle First.

I still have about a hundred books on my wishlists, but if I really think about it, there are probably fewer than five that I'm really keen to read. Most of them are just bookmarks for the next book in a series, which I'll pick up when I'm ready.

Today, it's a $2.99 sale on Robertson Davies titles at Kobo Canada.

On the one hand, they're kinda sorta wishlist titles (as in, I wish I owned them!) and they'll never be cheaper. However, the $64 question is, will I actually reread them? I'm over buying ebooks for the sake of having them.

Well, I have today to think about it.

E-book shops

Hello,

I would like to buy books from Amazon.nl but the shop is not listed in the shops list. Is there a way that I can do it or could someone do this for me ?

Manny tanks in advance,

You might be better off posting that in the Kindle forum, and making it clear what list of shops you're referring to.

In general, it's difficult to buy from Amazon Kindle stores in a different country to your credit card address.

I'm just going to warn you that Kobo has a nasty habit of occasionally expiring their promo pricing and bonus points deals earlier than expected, so whatever you might want to pick up out of the 13 or so Robertson Davies books in the sale, try to do it preferably before 4 pm Pacific Time, or 8pm at the latest.

Thanks for the warning! I suspect I'm in.

OK, I am completely unfamiliar with this author. If I were going to buy ONE Robertson Davies, to see what I thought, which should it be?

Oh, and by the way, several of the audio books of his books are available from the library (overdrive), at least here in Canada.

Fifth Business, IMO.*

I think Davies is the greatest Canadian author.

*Others might disagree and have another favorite, of course.

Oh, definitely others would have different opinions. Margaret Atwood, for one. Though my personal favourite is Farley Mowat.

Ah! Farley Mowat has been on my radar for a long time, but I haven't got to him. And I like that kind of book, too. Must remedy.

Welcome yennhikorea! I have the same problem. Lots of ebook buying that could be delayed and lots of machines with which to read and listen to them.

Arrgghhh. I was having a really bad week, and I just succumbed to Retail Therapy and bought the new Oasis. I know I don't need a new Kindle, but I _wanted it_. And no, I don't really have buyer's remorse, but I do feel like I let down the side a bit and succumbed to my (undoubted) addiction.
