That works well when you get cold easily. For those of us who hate the heat, layering isn't an option. She had some more appointments today, and in fact, we're at the hospital now. At the moment she's getting blood and fluids. If I had on any less layers I'd be arrested. Fortunately the rooms we've been in today have been pretty comfortable.

I used to stuff ice cubes down the front of my corset, when I did Revolutionary War reenactments. I figured I was wet and sweaty anyway; more water wouldn't hurt. ALthough I did use a plastic bag. I created a Busk made out of ice. You might try a variation on that theme, since you can't take off any more layers!

I just got back from Staples to pick up a pack of paper. I also treated myself to a Brother label printer. Interestingly it came with a German, a French and a Spanish manual (no Dutch or English), so I have to figure out how it works by playing with it.

After that I have to make a birthday card for my cousin's husband. I haven't got an original idea so I'll probably use one of the card kits I took with me.

I'm getting ready to have my last insulin shot of the day, and have been playing about a bit with an app from Amazon called Story Planner which allows you to insert your own details for characters, plot, etc. into a form and then export it as rich text or plain text. I figure with that app and Evernote I can use my KF to come up with ideas and export them for use in Scrivener pretty easily. :

My daughter speaks so softly that I just had to turn my hearing aids to their highest setting. I can still barely hear her, but I'm having no problems eavesdropping on conversations in the next two buildings over.

I saw parts of it. I was at a friend's place helping to configure the new laptop I helped her buy. I beat Win8.1+Bing into partial submission (more to do yet), while she and my SO giggled their way through Sharknado 3.

It's become a cult classic and spawned a franchise, and there will be a Sharknado 4. It's at the point where names you recognize will take a part if they aren't otherwise engaged, because it's a goof, you put your tongue so firmly in your cheek you need stitches to close the hole you poke, you can totally chew the scenery, and your career won't suffer because you were in it.

The company that made it specializes in low budget grade Z fare, and prides themselves on how bad the films are. The question they ask is "What can we do that's even worse for our next production?" The answer currently seems to be Lavalantula, in which giant lava breathing tarantulas emerge from volcanoes to trash LA.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but the bits I caught were amusing. The sharks destroying the White House were fun. The portion set in Orlando stayed away from the Disney park, so I didn't get to hear a little kid cry "Mommy! The shark ate Mickey!" (There is no way Disney would have permitted that...), but seeing sharks rain on the Daytona 500 had its moments. I wouldn't watch it again, but didn't regret the bits I did see.

My suspicion, however, is "so bad it's good" is best as a happy accident, because those making it didn't know they were making a really bad film. When you try to do it deliberately, as the Sharknado folks are, I don't think you can quite reach the truly sublime levels of the best such efforts.

I haven't watch it yet, but probably will. I enjoyed the first two, but you're right about how when people try to do their best and fail it can reach the truly sublime levels of bad movie making. That's why I always enjoyed Plan 9 From Outer Space but thought Attack of the Killer Tomatoes was a bore. You could see the difference on the faces of the actors. On the faces of those in Plan 9 was written, "We're making us a MOVIE here!"
