That was no surprise to me. I saw him singing and dancing in the 1981 movie Pennies From Heaven. The movie was based on the Dennis Potter BBC TV series.

back in my pole climbing days there were a lot of times the power company had their lines WAY too close to ours, and stuff left unprotected. obviously we were trained to stay away from it, but even so, if your pole got to wobbling (and BOY could they wobble!), sometimes it was fairly natural to reach a hand up above to grab anything available!
