Definitely not a list that everyone will want to take advantage of! LOL! Here's another, with a completely different category:

Ordinarily, I skip over reporting extended samples, but after examining Stumbling On Wins in Basketball, by David J. Berri & Martin B. Schmidt, an excerpt from Stumbling on Wins (Bonus Content Edition) ($9.99), it appears that it contains nearly the entire book, unlike the two business shorts also released as freebies this week, which at 8 and 9 pages on my DX would have greatly been overpriced at anything other than free (Changing a Troubled Ship's Course and Clearing the Mind for Creativity). This lengthy excerpt has also been edited as a stand-alone title, rather than being an arbitrary length or selected chapters. According to the table of contents, only two chapters and an appendix are missing; although I suspect a small amount of editing was done on the remaining chapters, there are over 2100 locations and the sample of the entire book was 260 -- if the 10% sample rule is still in effect, only around 500 locations are missing in the excerpt. If you really want the missing chapters, I'd suggest that you pick up Stumbling On Wins in Football ($3.99), although I suspect you really don't need the two chapters and appendix on football to get the gist of this one.

Ok, one last try to get you something to read today. This one isn't free (ok, it's also over a dollar, but hey, it's the weekend, splurge a little!):

The American Vegetarian Cookbook from the Fit for Life Kitchen, by Marilyn Diamond, is currently marked down to $1.99 in the Kindle and other ebookstores. Originally published twenty years ago, some of the early information is a bit dated (and the sample never gets past the intro info) and the product description at Amazon leaves a bit to be desired. The customer reviews, on the other hand, are positively glowing and you can use the search inside on the (now out of print) hardcover edition to check out the recipes. As it turns out, my mom has a signed copy, so I'm heading over to skim thru it before grabbing my copy. (Seriously! I called her when I saw this on sale, to see if she has it, as she has walls and walls of cookbooks. She didn't recognize the title , but was certain she had something by the author.)

The huge list in post 380 seem to be "cover coded". All the shorts stories have one of three or four covers. If it has the "two naked people side by side" cover, it's a hot sex story. If it's one of the other covers, the description is milder, so I assume they are more relational rather than just sexual. I haven't read *any* of them, though. This is just from reading the blurbs on Amazon's pages.
