I loved the original and was skeptical about the sequel. (ID4 didn't really need a sequel.) But the trailers are looking exciting so I may go see it. Going to wait till I see some reviews first, but it looks like it'll be fun.

I have to agree with the monkey.

I once spent an hour going through the movie point-by-point of its errors.

My favourite was the Apple virus.

Oh yeah, it has tons of unrealistic stuff, but it's still fun to watch. 2012 is another movie like that. The plot was so unrealistic that it made me cringe. But watching everything blow up/sink/etc. was a lot of fun.

I actually laughed at that when I saw it and commented on it to my friend. But I saw someone make a comment online recently that actually had a plausible explanation for that. The head scientist (played by Brent Spiner) at Area 51 did say that most modern technology was based off of what they had reverse engineered from the alien spacecraft. So Apple's OS was apparently based off that technology and that's why it worked.

Too bad the movie didn't make that explanation canon, it's a neat theory.

"Winter is Coming", Game of Thrones Season 1 Episode 1, fantasy drama @ Google Play (available to Canadians) They've also deals on the rest of the assorted seasons, but iTunes seems to have the same discounts as well, and their versions come with more extras (though not as many extras as the excellent Blu-Ray sets, which include digital download redemptions as well).

Available in the U.S., too.

Google Play has blown the competition out of the water lately, at least, with their freebies and bargains. It would be interesting to know how they're doing it. If they're cutting these great deals with the publishers and/or artists, where other retailers aren't, I'd like to know how.
