I've been charging my with a variety of chargers (blackberry, samsung cell phone) depending on what room I'm in. I also got a wireless Qi charging pad that works great.

Get a USB extension cable. They work great when you need the longer reach.

Because I have a variety of devices that use micro-USB chargers, I charge my Nexus with a variety of chargers (branded Asus, Sony, HTC, Blackberry and generic ones). They all seem to work fine, although I think some may be quicker than others.

Yeah I want the quickest of course.

Now here's one has anyone tried a Kindle Fire Rapid Charger on their Nexus 7? It's 9v instead of 5v.

I may have to get the extension cable like suggested. I just need to know which one wont slow down my charging.

The eink ereader is not faring well this Black Friday. Only two Kindles will be on sale at the major electronics stores. The PW2 will be $119 + free $20 gift card at Staples and the Kindle 4B will be $50 at Best Buy.

B&N will have two ereaders on sale at their stores. The GlowLight (2013) will be ~$95 for members only and the GlowLight (2012) will be $49 for anyone.

What Kobo plans on doing is yet to be seen. You might find some specials at small indie stores, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Would it be cheaper and easier to get a simple plug extension rather than trying to extend the USB end?

I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't mess around with changing voltages.

I suspect the faster charger has a higher wattage rating.

It's watts, not volts. Spec wise, the 9W PowerFast Adapter delivers 9 watts (1.8A x 5.0V) to the N7.2's 7 watts (1.35A x 5.2V). It'll charge faster.

BTW, my Fire cable is about 5 feet long. Much too long if you ask me.

Well, poop! I just put a 2 inch long scratch up the screen of my K4NT. I will be blaming a certain monkey because I was distracted by South Park. Warning to everyone, never try to plug in the charger while laughing! Now I have to get another Kindle. As stupid as it sounds, I have to have two. I hate it when I forget to charge one and don't have another to pick up. So put me down for another Kindle. Another K4NT, I have to have buttons. Unless the Paperwhite does taps for page forward on both sides of the screen??

I don't trust them. I have surge protectors on everything but extension cords are banned from here. Too much of a fire hazard.

The back tap area is very narrow I can turn the page with my thumb on either side depending on which hand is holding it of course. I have small hands too.

That's perfect length and how long my other cables are. I mean watts no sleep here less than 2 hours.

I think it would charge slower with them I am trying to figure it all out. I am a Kindle girl so I am new territory here.

Voltages I think are the same it's watts I mean 9 watts.

When watching South Park, I find it best to keep your mouth and hands empty

The Kindle 4B/NT will be $50 at Best Buy. I'm hoping most of these deals go online.
