This one is on my wishlist. As you know I hated REAL. I am currently reading The Proposition by Jennifer Lyon. Not very far in it. I stopped when I started reading The Charade which I am about done with then I will go back to it.
I have both, would be curious as to your thoughts as they are both also pushed way up on my TBR list. Need to know if I should make room up there from the other 500-ish that I want to read soon!

BTW, anybody here read either The Rocker series by Terri Anne Browning or the Rock Me series by Arabella Quinn? I've had both sets on my wishlists and just wonder if they're worth it?

I seem to remember a couple people here bought this [Loosheesh?] What did you think, would you recommend this? I had it on my wishlist and it just dropped to $.99 Undeclared by Jen Frederick. I checked ratings at Goodreads and seems 3.5ish so I'm undecided now.

I haven't read it yet (). I only bought it because of the penpal thing; I always wanted to read a similar story. I bought it $2.19 with a coupon, and now it's $0.99 .. go figure

I bought that one too but haven't touched it, for no reason other than I keep finding other "must reads".

I keep looking at the Rocker series, but read some reviews on book #2 that turned me off trying it out - and I completely forget why of course.

Sometimes that happens to us all. Thank you and NixLapi for replying, not sure yet on it so I'll leave it for now.

NixLapi, yes, there seems to be something niggling at me about one of those series as well and I can't place it. They're not on sale right now anyways but I just figured I'd ask since it seemed a slow day.

Friday today and I'm still under budget..
will she get Tangled or not? Stay tuned for another episode of "As The Book Hoarder Decides"

That may have been me. I actually purchased Extreme Love a few days ago and enjoyed it. I also got Cowboy Heat by Sable Hunter and it was good. Still waiting for the 15th and my D.B. Reynolds fix.

I read a review on it that says it needed more character development so keep that in mind.

Hunted by D.B. Reynolds is now available at amazon and is only 1.99. It's a short story but I love this series.

I'd say 3 - 3.5 would be about right. I got it for free, and liked the premise so I read it right away, but I thought the heroine was too passive, and there wasn't enough angst for me. I'd classify it as a "throwaway" - fine for a couple of hours of reading, but nothing memorable.

Two of Tessa Dare's Spindle Cove novels are on sale for $0.89 (and here I thought I got good deals when I bought them for $1.99 and $2.99):

A Week to be Wicked

A Lady by Midnight

Plus, the first book in the series, A Night to Surrender is only $2.99

I love this series. These are not traditional Georgette Heyer type Regencies, though. The characters act much more modern. Lots of fun banter, great characters and good emotional intensity.

Charlotte Stein is a popular erotic romance author. From what I understand, this is quite kinky and dirty, but well-written. I've been wanting to give her books a try.

Thanks! They look fun. I actually bought a couple last month because of a thread on All About Romance about how unbelievable they were. I like the more historical ones, but sometimes I'm more in the mood for something that is really more like a fairy tale. Or like a Regency set in an alternate history where ladies can marry blacksmiths. Also, it helps that so many people like Tessa Dare's voice.

I've tried a lot of "Regency lite" authors who turn out to be too blah -- bland or whatever. If the authors are going to go for the "Regency Fairy Tale" experience, they might as well go into it with all cylinders. As long as they don't start adding cell phones, helicopters, and SUVs.
