Admittedly, reading this thread was more contagious/addictive than the books themselves
![]() It's scary how many I bought in 3 days despite only buying 4 at a time. Maybe I should thank Harlequin for stopping me just as I was getting really pulled in ![]() This thread has been most entertaining and and thanks everyone's recommendations I now have a wishlist of books from new authors for future promotions ![]() |

![]() I picked up Without a Clue by Trish Jensen from Kobo easier today before that 30% off coupon expired. I had just found some good titles this morning only to find the coupon ended. Fictionwise didn't have that title. I paid $2.79 for a book that would of been a nickle had I acted last night. This one though was one of those I must read this. The plot sounds hilarious! |

Here is my haul. As you can see, a very mixed lot! Unfortunately, with so many new authors I was planning to read a book first, then buy more nickel books by this author. That's why I only bought the first two Precinct books by Julie Miller, for example.
Spoiler:
Otherwise, I'd been mostly through with the 5 cent books I really wanted and was about to move on to the 49 cent books. That would have required much more deliberation, as you can't go wrong at 5 cents, but I don't want to waste 49 cents on a book I don't like. So now Harlequin has saved me some time and money. ![]() Altogether I bought 156 books for $13.02. For full Harlequin price that would have been $637,02. For full list price that would have been $707,80. So you can say I'm pleased! ![]() Thanks to everyone for the delighful discussions here and for the splendid recommendations! ![]() |

It's funny because customer service told a friend that the coupon could be used as often as she liked, then when they realized that ppl were going nuts buying books one at a time they changed their tune to 1 coupon per customer. You would think they would have caught on sooner!

Most of the coupons they issue say one time use. So they had to know this one didn't back in December when they issued it.
They had another multiple use coupon last year where you got $10 off if you spent $20. I had purchased a lot of books with that one, too. What I thought was more odd is both of these coupons were on top of the regular 10% off they offer every day. Some of their coupons are off the retail price. |

I didn't get time to use the coupon. sigh. Oh well. I'll just get them from Fictionwise instead the next time they have a 50% off coupon.

If worse comes to worse, just keep saving books on your wishlist. They have offered a 50% coupon deal during their 12 days of Christmas sales for the past few years
![]() I like buying books directly from their site as the DRM isn't messed up like it can with Kobo. Don't think I've ever bought one from Sony. And I don't like the format that Fictionwise has. Wish they would go back to selling multi-format. |

I'm afraid it was my fault - on Friday and Saturday, I bought 360 books at 5 cents. It took most of Sunday to download them.
I went online today to add to my Stephanie Laurens collection - I have the Cynster and the Black Cobra series, but they have 6 stand alone books I thought I would buy. Couldn't understand why the coupon didn't work, so instead of emailing Harlequin, I came here. Here is my haul: Harlequin Temptation 97@$.49= $47.53 Misc 360@$.05= $18.00 Total 457 for $65.53 Read one Monday and one yesterday. I just got Jack Kennedy by Chris Matthews from the library, so no romances for awhile. Last edited by Sydney's Mom; 01-18-2012 at 02:17 PM. |
