stories in between: narratives and mediums @ play by Drew Davidson

Quote:
Product Description
This is a unique text exploring the interplay between stories and media. The discussion focuses around the Myst narrative as it moves across media from games to books to comics to games. Along the way, the text also discusses the Sandman comics, and the hypermedia of Ultima Online and MitterNachtSpiel. This text was created hypertextually to exist online as a website with an inter-related book.
Centaurs (Parallel Worlds) by Aaron Pery

Quote:
Product Description
This is the First book in a series of parallel worlds adventures. It follows the story of Nicole and Martin Sherman's strangely acquired ability to travel at will from dimention to dimention in geographically similar worlds.
Their first stop, though unintentional, is the ancient island of Crete, in the Aegean Sea between Greece and Turkey where they are quite shocked to find thenselves in the bodies of two young centaurs.
They befriend the other centaurs on the island, all of whom are not native to it since they were brought over under false promises in order to serve their new masters' hidden agenda of rebuilding their population by mating with the centaurs.
Nicole and Martin quickly uncover the Gogian's secret plans and help the enraged centaurs get rid of their opressors and become a nation under their own rule.

Cougar Cub Tales: Lost and Alone by Sharon Cramer (B & F Publishing)

Quote:
Product Description
Lost and Alone, is about two sibling cougar cubs who live alone after losing their mother. The cubs are at odds one day, as siblings will be, and they decide to go their separate ways. The adventure becomes lonely and the cubs discover that the single most important thing is to find one another. Unusual circumstances come into play as the cubs are wonderfully reunited, never again to be separated.

The story deals with the everyday childhood issues of friend or sibling rivalry and spats and conflict resolution. It communicates to a child in a wonderful, nonsensical rhyme, and the eighteen watercolors are an exquisite representation of this timeless story.

The Days and Months We Were First Born- Family By Fate (Book 2 of 3) by Christopher Hunter

Quote:
Product Description
After surviving an epic and far-reaching tragedy that claimed his future, his girlfriend, his family, and even his hometown of New York City, Martin Jacob finds himself alone and on an abandoned hotel rooftop. Without a clue where to go and start anew, he faces the task of navigating a different and dangerous world, with only a gun, a hunting knife, and four bags of supplies and food.

Dr. Carl Russell and his wife Mary lived a very busy and normal life in Keene, New Hampshire. They ran a NHC Health Clinic, and they were prepared for a busy day on payroll Friday. Then a couple of government officials came to pay them a visit. And soon, the doctor and his wife discover that their normal and busy life will never be the same.

Melinda Gunaji Henderson was home from her first year at Penn State. She was looking forward to a party on Sunday, July 29, 2068. But when she walks into the living room on Awareness Day, the day before, it becomes clear that a party will be the least of her concerns.

In this action-packed second installment of the "The Days and Months We Were First Born" trilogy, their courses collide to make them a family by fate.

The Days and Months We Were First Born- Family By Fate (Book 2 of 3), by Christopher Hunter, is back in the Kindle store and once again free.

It was apparently free on Smashwords (but is, no longer), so Amazon dropped the price. He fixed the price at SM and added the book back to Kindle, but Amazon hasn't updated the price yet. Grab it while it's free, if you want it.

The third title, The Days and Months We Were First Born - The Journey (Book 3 of 3), is $2.99 and not likely to change price anytime soon.

From the file sizes, each "book" seems about a novella in length and the only review so far seems to think it sets the stage well for a series of actual novels later on.

Rashnar (Kantura World) by Robert M. Yelverton (Short)

Quote:
Product Description
Jack, Phillip, and Tracy. Three teens living in different parts of the US never having met or even know of each other's lives. Each with their own problems, challenges, and abilities. Soon they will be thrown together on a different realm. A realm where a troubled world under siege is called Kantura. The challenges they faced on their world are petty compared to the life and death challenges on Kantura. Can they learn to work together in time to save Kantura and in turn save their own world?

WARNING!!! This Book is a CLIFF HANGER!! It is written in the style of many book series. It will leave you hanging at a critical junction! But do not worry; I will not leave you hanging forever. Krae (book 2) is already in the works.

The Abandoned Edge of Avalon by Eden Tyler (Night Publishing)

Quote:
Product Description
Not once in twenty-four years has Alexis slept a dreamless night. She used to relish the visions, but lately they've grown dangerous. Darkness is invading her days, showing the true nature of her existence.

After a nightmare occurs while she’s not sleeping, she discovers much about her past. Her real mother was killed the day she gave birth, leaving Alexis a faery changeling. Now the murderous evil is on the loose and stalking Alexis, desperate for her soul.

A simple bedtime verse holds the key to her life and safety, as well as the lives of many other fae. With only strangers to depend on—one being a depraved faery whom she can't help but fall for—Alexis’ emotions become stuck in overdrive.

Not even her wildest dreams could have prepared her for this chaos. But that's exactly where she must delve, back into dreams, to steal and sacrifice. This, according to the prophetic rhyme. Alexis’ strength must lead her toward the greater good. She’s in a race against fate, evil, & time … and doesn’t have a clue if she can actually win.

Storm World: Speaker Of The Gods by Jonathan DeCotea

Quote:
Product Description
In the peaceful coastal town of Burgundy Hill, friendships, morals, and faith will be tested. In response to the increase in storm activity and an unexplained death, a gothic gang known only as The Resurrection Men infiltrates the town. They bear warning to Samuel Johnson that these are signs of the end of days and in order to survive, he must learn the ways of their order. The young man resists--only to see the earth dying around him--but is it too late? Can he solve the mystery of this cult before they transform Earth into Storm World?

She’s paired up with an overly anxious Gothic roommate, is continuously glared down by the gorgeous top-dog, Chris, who feels she doesn’t belong, and is placed on a delivery team to transport a valuable magical diamond to a clan of terrorists who can kill with their thoughts.

Chris, the team leader, is given the diamond, but Calli secretly receives the real stone along with a vision of the future and an explanation of why she was hand selected to carry out the mission. Almost immediately the hidden diamond oozes unprecedented additional powers and abilities into Calli making her more sought after than the diamond itself.
