Well, it's Friday Night, so it should be Pizza and Talisker Night. But I'm only doing half of that. It's also Christmas Eve, so I'm going with a Canadian traditional dish, a Tourtière. This is a French Canadian meat pie, traditionally served on Christmas Eve. It's a bit like "Irish Stew", in that EVERYONE's grandmother had a recipe for it, and all of them are different. And all of them delicious! Of course, served with Talisker 10Yr.

And last night, with the power going out just as dinner went on the table, we fired up the generator and had a bit of Bruichladdich Octomore.

Strong coffee with Metaxa brandy and ouzo. Just a dab of whipped cream. Perfect for a cold winter day.

Not the worst choice of a present for yourself!

This is a bottle of 7.3 that I've been parceling out for a while. Way too good to drink everyday. But a lovely treat for the holidays.

I ran across this again the week before Christmas and just cracked it open. It was so hard to find during the pandemic. Suntory stopped importing it altogether for at least 16 months of the pandemic. Merry Christmas to me all over again!

First tea of the day. I finished up the gunpowder green and opened some full-bodied Turkish black. Not bad on a chilly, dark, damp day.
