Preparing to run some errands.

First I'm going to the craftstore, I got a €10 discount this time because my stamp card is full, so that's nice. For the first time in month the weather's good enough to cycle, so that'll save a lot of time in comparison to when I go by bus. On the way back from the craftstore I'll make a slight detour to the supermarket to get the ingredients for tonight's taco dinner.

Back home I'll either clean up my desk, print photographs and get creative or I'll try to finish my current book and when my sister gets home I'll cook dinner.

How about a sonic boom in the middle of Jeopardy? That felt like a tree just fell on your house .... Suddenly the street filled with people looking up at their roofs shouting "What was that?"

It was like a Twilight Zone episode

[We're on the flight path for RDU - I think a fighter jet from Cherry Point was landing at RDU - but I prefer the aliens theory]

Studying maps of the 'Golden Triangle' region, the northern border area where Thailand, Burma, and Laos share a long history of opium growing going back hundreds of years. It's the very tippy top of Thailand on this map, where the three countries touch. In a couple of weeks we'll take a five-day motorcycle ride exploring this region, visiting remote hill tribe villages of the Shan, Hmong, Lisu, Akha, and Long Neck Karen people. It should be an interesting five day...

Right now I'm trying to pry my butt out from the chair and go down to the basement to the stationary bike and the weight machine -- since I can no longer claim that I'm supplementing my exercise regime with snow shoveling.

You could go outside and shovel the imaginary snow. It's much lighter than the real kind. And you can throw it much further too!

Update on last night's boom -- it seems a realtor, whilst showing a home in the country, discovered a box containing 30 sticks of dynamite in the storage room & called the Durham Bomb Squad. They decided that the dynamite was too old & unstable to transport back to their base, so they moved it away from the house and .... KABLAM!!! The shock wave was felt in 4 counties!
