Did the notice say which song was causing the blockage? And which country are you in when it happens? I know that Germany blocked 'Fur Elise,' Italy blocked 'The Blue Danube Waltz,' and the US blocked a version of one of the Brandenburg Concertos in another video I put up a few months ago.

No idea what music causes it; it doesn't say. The country is The Netherlands.

Thanks. It's difficult to find good music that isn't 'protected' somewhere. Most countries seem to allow the use of classical music, but insist on adding advertisements if you use it.

Just wanted to let you know as there may be people in other countries that wish to view it, but can't and won't bother to report.

The moment I hear music, I usually either close the window or mute it (if I'm really interested).

I appreciate it. Usually YouTube let's me know, but this time there wasn't any notification.

Do you dislike ALL music, or just certain types?

Ah, yes, that came out strange (on my end) ...

I usually listen to Jazz, and 9 out of 10 times something's already playing. Since I don't like it to be interrupted, I just close it or mute it if the first few seconds look interesting.

With regards to blocking, I have never seen any mention of the type of music being blocked on other videos either, just that there is music being blocked.

The lead piece that I used was Claude Bolling's "Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano." Followed by Pentangle's "Market Song," then "Silk Road" by Kitaro, then "The Last Whale" by Ken Mahren, finishing with "The Bricklayer's Beautiful Daughter" by William Ackerman. Nice tunes all!

Okay ... now I'm curious (which I already was because I wanted to see the market).

Funny, though, I hate going to markets myself, but am always interested in what's on offer.

My curiosity was piqued the first time I wandered through, and couldn't identify 75% of what I was seeing. Perhaps understandable with Thailand's 60-75 different prepared main entrees on offer, but I couldn't even recognize half of the produce I was seeing! Five or six were different types of basils (but I didn't know which was holy basil/thai basil/sweet basil (NOT Italian Sweet basil) Lemon basil, Pra Kao basil... OK, no problem... But the long stemmed stuff that looks somewhat like spinach but isn't, and there are 5-6 different long stemmed veggies! Things that look like slightly oversized green peas, but aren't, half a dozen different rhizomes that look like ginger, but aren't, little round lumpy green balls that you can't eat, but you can use the skin to make curries.... Fruits that defy imagination! Until I took the cooking class, I really had very little idea of just what all this stuff was, or how to use it.

Fascinating!!! Mind if I send that link to my home schooled nevvies and nieces? "How one grocery shops in Thailand". I have a first cousin in .... well, Ulaanbaatar,Mongolia for a while, Chang Mai, Thailand (your next door neighbor, probably) for a while, and I'm not sure which just now. But I imagine his shopping trips are JUST like this. So maybe I'll send this to my other relatives too, to show them. If I may?

Oh -- Do you KNOW what the watermelon sized fruit at 12:00 minutes is? With yellow flesh? You asked, in the text-over.

Of course! Keep in mind that we have typical western-style supermarkets here too. Just as many as you'd find in any city or town in the US, laid out the very same way. One chain specializes in carrying imported foods along with local ones, and there are five branches of that store here, as well as 4 branches of another chain. They've all just started a new concept here with "Express" shops around town; about 3x the size of a convenience store, carrying all the usual staples. The cost of food in the supermarkets is higher than at the 'ta-laht' (local fresh markets,) and higher still at the 'Express' markets. At the other end of the spectrum are these 'fresh markets,' and we have 15-20 of them around Chiang Mai, 3-4 this size and in open-sided covered buildings, and the rest under canvas roofs outside such as the massively huge one I shot in the video called 'Chang Dao Market' which carries not only foods but clothing and household goods too.

This is called 'Jackfruit.' It's a very common fruit in S.E. Asia, and we see it all the time, football size up to 60-70lbs, even larger than this woman is cutting up. It's a strange fruit in that it grows from or close to the trunk of a tree rather than hanging from the ends of the branches! It's not a very sweet fruit, and quite popular with locals.

"A Trip to Tannin Market"

YouTube get's appoximately 1,000 videos uploaded PER HOUR! Because of the traffic, this video took over 11 hours to upload, que, process, and publish. It ain't much, but it's been what you've been wanting to see.

I didn't want to attract attention to the fact that I was filming, so the camera was in a black case clipped to the chest strap of my pack. This causes a lot of 'jerky' motion, definitely NOT what you see when shot with a 'steady-cam' mount. But the idea of the market gets across well enough. Some day I'll go back with a steady-cam and do it right, but I'm in no hurry. If you have questions about what it is that you're seeing, just note the time-stamp of the frame and let me know. Enjoy.

That was great! Thank you so MUCH for doing that! I love markets like that! I'm blown away at the sheer volume of food! Are there problems with hunger there?

Depends on your definition of 'problem.' When one lives in a jungle environment, there is ALWAYS food available. A popular leaf green here is called Water Morning Glory, and it grows everywhere there is water... canals, drainage ditches, ponds, etc., etc. People gather it for free from the irrigation ditches around rice paddies! Also called Water Spinich, Swamp Cabbage, etc., it's as nutritious as spinach and great in stir-frys. Mango trees, papaya trees, jackfruit trees... all through the jungles. And bugs! Thais love to eat bugs. Maybe you and I would starve, but the Thais won't. Rats are hunted with rustic crossbows, and you see whole families wandering through empty lots armed with crossbows. Fish are everywhere too. So, even with no money, everyone eats. With just a little money, you buy rice and strong-flavored curries so a little bit of curry seasons a lot of rice. A common lunch might be one BBQ's chicken wing, rice, and a few teaspoons of curry. Everyone eats. But perhaps the most important thing... Thais don't have problems. If they don't eat today, 'mai pen rai!' (No problem.) They will eat tomorrow. It's perhaps the most commonly heard Thai phrase... Mai Pen Rai!
That's why they call Thailand 'The Land of Smiles.'

I get that. I'm always amazed at people who insist we would die if the balloon went up, especially here on the peninsula. If I don't get a direct hit, I'm here for the long haul.

Anyway, almost 5, been up since a little after 2. Not entirely certain why. I'm getting the PTSD monsters mostly in line after this last round.

Guess I'll hit the little technicians room and try for some more Z
