Yes. BC voted, overwhelmingly, two years ago to go to permanent daylight savings time, but so far no signs of actually implementing that.

A bit of cranberry juice right now, but soon some Queen Victoria Blend tea from Murchies.

I voted against that. Most of the push for it involved claims that it would improve traffic safety, that we would have fewer traffic accidents because it would lighter in the afternoon. Yeah, we get a bit more daylight at the end of the day which may help with traffic accidents but in the morning, we get another hour of darkness which will cause more traffic accidents. Not to mention the kids heading to school in the dark who would obviously be much safer.

A couple of items that many proponents of permanent DST seem to pay little attention to:

Russia switched to permanent daylight savings in 2011 but then switched to permanent standard time in 2014.

BC stated they would move to permanent DST if Washington and Oregon did do. Sadly, the Uniform Time Act forbids permanent DST in the USA which means British Columbians will waiting for quite a while.

I would raise my cup of Ethiopian Queen City Harrar coffee to hearing the last of whinging about this.
