![]() The food itself was really nice (I had pork belly) but the service was a little slow and we passed that on to the manager there as that was basically the whole point of the night for her, to get that feedback. The front of house staff were fine, I think they may have been understaffed in the kitchen. |

Sitting here waiting for the ibuprofen I took to kick in. Sinatra the Siamese has abandoned me for the cat bed by the heat vent. Thinking about getting up to make dinner, which is going to be red beans and rice with sausage, and cornbread to go with it.
Mentally planning the layout for my new "library" - Chris moved his music equipment downstairs, so that room he was using behind the kitchen is now mine. I'm contemplating a combination library and craft room (the yarn is taking over). Right now I have planned two of the shorter bookshelves to go on the wall under the passthrough from the kitchen, a table for working on jewelry, a cabinet for yarn and embroidery floss, and a comfy chair for reading and crocheting. Oh, and a good lamp. |

Somewhat disappointed by Amazon's Dutch webstore. It's only selling ebooks and Kindles, not even cases for the Kindles. What I dislike most is that there isn't a wishlist option available. I looks like I'll be using Amazon.com for now if it's possible.
It does, however, mean that I have to decide whether I want a Voyage or a Paperwhite 2. But first it's time to enjoy a somewhat cloudy sunrise and go to the supermarket for some food. Last edited by Rumpelteazer; 11-12-2014 at 01:45 AM. |

Thanks, trichobezoar. Now I don't feel too bad about what I'm doing. Thanks to my youngest granddaughter, I have, playing in my head on continuous loop as I write these words, a recording of My Little Pony and his/her friends singing about how they're apples to the core. Thank you, granddaughter. Just what I freaking' needed.

I've got 15 minutes before I have to leave the house for an appointment, and I'm going to spend the time to begin finguring out how I used to play a song I wrote about 20 years ago (and haven't played since) in an open G alternate guitar tuning.

In our store people can hand in their old CFL's, fluorescent tubes, LED's, batteries and small electronics. For the first three an orginization call WeCycle picks them up to be recycled when the boxes are full. A couple of times a year WeCycle has things that a store can hand out when customers return old lamps, usually it's only the big chain stores that get those items.
In September we got a package from WeCycle with cards with a code to hand out to customers who hand in old lightbulbs. If they entered the code into a website they could win a trip for two to Paris. Late October we heard that one of our customers won one of the trips! Today we got another package from WeCycle to congratulate us, with a really yummie cake. At least it looks delicious, since I'm on vacation I can't taste is. Today is a lovely day, a bit foggy in the morning but very sunny later on. There were a bunch of sparrows sunning on the railing of the balcony for hours today. I've been happily pottering about. Reading, crafting and watching tv. I've decided that I can't be bothered to cook today so I'll go by the snackbar to pick up a hamburger and some fries/chips tonight |

I am. I love going on holiday with my sister but I also need to get away on my own regularly and just do nothing.
I've just ordered the calendar of BBC's Countryfile. Not only has it got beautiful pictures but part of the money is going to Children in Need. Now I'm just procrastinating, I need to empty the dishwasher and take a shower. I think I might watch a film this afternoon. I'm not sure which but it'll probably be a horror film. Tonight the Children in Need fundraiser is on the BBC, so I'm going to enjoy that with some nice snacks and hot chocolate milk. |

Having a film night.
I just watch Grave Encounters (low budget horror), which had some quite good BOO moments until they started showing the creepy things. IMHO it's always a lot more scary when you don't see the ghost/bloody things just the things they cause and do. But I know myself and I will be scared to get out of bed during the night to go to the toilet. To cancel out the effects of the first film I'm now watching Frozen. After that I might watch the English language version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. |

It's my last night at the holiday park.
Today my sister came to visit, to escape friends visiting with young children to view the arrival of Saint Nicholas in our city. We had lunch at the grand café, which was closed the first two times we were here. After that we watched a film and had an early dinner. I'm sad it's the last night already. I decided not to spoil tonight, so I'll get up in time tomorrow and pack before my father comes to pick me up. |

Back home.
It was long day. I got up at 6am so that I had enough time to pack and clean. I did have enough time; I was done almost 2 hours before I was to be picked up. In the afternoon I ran errands with my dad and after unpacking I'm tired and it's time for bed to watch a bit of tv and read a while before going to sleep. The three things I'll miss most: the view, whatever the weather it's stunning over the water. The quiet, living in the inner city there's always some noise. And finally, the heated towel rack in the bathroom: I love warm towels. Now I'm having GAS (gadget anticipation syndrome) again. On Thursday I can order a Kindle Paperwhite, hopefully it's still sold for €99. |

I was riding down the road yesterday, somewhere in the Back and Beyond, when I realized that driving down the back roads in northern Thailand looks just like driving down the back roads in the Adirondacks, Smoky Mountains, or the Catskills. The trees may have different shaped leaves, the underbrush is a bit more lush, and it's harder to read the signs on the shops and buildings along the way, but otherwise, very similar. Oh... one more difference. The 'animal crossing' signs are a little different too...
