Listening to Chris tweaking his latest recording, checking out next month's new release lists for cozy mysteries and urban fantasy, eating ice cream, waiting for an update from my favorite perfume company, and wondering if my laundry is dry yet. How's that for an exciting evening??

It sounds like a relaxing evening.

I'm working on my 2 Do List on my rooted Nook Tablet, uploading it as a .png onto Box.com, shrinking it somehow ('have to figure that out), converting it to a .jpg if need be, creating a thread I could post it in (hopefully a few people will be willing to participate) and... going on from there. 'Have a lot of things to do in the coming weeks. I've been procrastinating for the longest time. >.>

I think what I'm doing is brainstorming. Please bear with me. lol Sometimes I'm brutally honest when brainstorming.

OMG, I finally finished updating my 2 Do List! *seeing dots before my eyes* I really need to put a matte screen saver on this tablet. The LCD screen hurts my eyes a bit when I've been using it for hours and hours on end. lol

I have a few matte anti-glare screen protectors, but they're a pain to put on. *sigh*

I think I'll rest my eyes a bit then continue with the tasks.

'Hope everyone's doing well.

I just finished a Margery Allingham "Campion" mystery. The setting was 1930, although I'm not sure but what it might have been written a year or two later than that. But the term "brainstorm" in there seems to mean "brain has taken total leave of its senses and is now totally clinically insane". One doesn't recover from that state -- one character was assumed to have committed a murder for that cause; one character wound up in an asylum and he HAD committed the murder in that state, and was still in that state. Odd that the meaning should have so changed!

OMG, I no longer want to use it!

I first learned of brainstorm in college while taking a study skills class. I see the connection to the archaic meaning, however--overpowering emotions, the brain/mind needing to express these emotions--needing a sense of ease and comfort, perhaps the seven deadly sins (i.e., pride, anger, greed, envy, sloth, gluttony, lust) needing a form of expression. I suppose if one doesn't learn how to be true to oneself--how to express his/her emotions and thoughts in a productive manner, this could happen.

The modern meaning of the word... I guess it has to do with how the mind feels overwhelmed with ideas, concerns, problems needing solutions, tasks needing to be done. It feels as though there's a storm of emotions and thoughts sometimes when I'm brainstorming... thoughts and concerns clamoring for attention. *nods*

My philosophical musings on the word brainstorm. : )

Huh! I've only interpretted "lots of clever ideas" but I see where your definition is a deeper view of what's going on up in the old noggin.

This morning the IRS called. They had made a mistake and never sent us the final tax bill for 2009. Because it's longer than 5 years they have to ask us permission before sending it.

My father asked the IRS man what that would mean. If my father agreed to have the bill sent he would have to pay over €1200

So, understandably, my father refused. To which the IRS man replied that that meant that the money of the temporary tax bills my father had already would be returned to us, that's almost €2500

It's a good news day anyway because I found out that a full week and a midweek at my favourite holiday park in November cost the same! Last week's trip to Newcastle was supposed to be my own-my-own-holiday but my sister asked if she could join me since she wasn't going away with her friends. So I still wanted at least a couple of days away on my own. A full week at the park is cheaper than three days Belgium or Germany (what I had been looking at doing in the first place).

Wow, that's great Rumpelteazer!

I just finished chanting a few Kundalini Yoga mantras. 'Feel a bit more relaxed. It was an intense session... I've decided not to creat a To Do or Not To Do thread here. I've created my 2 Do List, uploaded the .png to Box.com and resized it using Photobucket.com, but... I've come to realize that everyone will be privy to my dreams and goals if I post it. And perhaps that's not a good thing when one is new to a forum. Sometimes, a person needs to protect his/her dreams and goals. Perhaps in the future I will... when I feel more confident.

'Hope everyone's had a good day. : )

Ok, so this seems rather odd. I'm smelling either barbecue or spaghetti. My house is practically smack dab in the middle of my 10 acres. I have never ever had cooking smells from my neighbors, only the occasional trash burn. On top of that, my door to the outside is wide open as is my bedroom window, and it's pouring rain.

This house used to leave random smells for me like my grandfather's pipe. Not only had he been dead for years, he had never been here. The house has participated in other ways as well but this has been going on for several hours and quite honestly it's a bit freaky.

@KK: I hope you're not expecting me to mansplain your cooking odours.... I wouldn't even attempt to try.

But I will acknowledge that you do seem to have some interesting experiences out there in the middle of your ten acres...

Well it's getting more interesting. Aragorn is doing everything he can think of to get me out the front door. It's dark and pouring so that's not real high on my list. So I have my cell phone, flashlight, shoes and. 38 right next to me.

So if something does happen, the dog tried!

It's not a big thing here in northern Thailand, but for those who celebrate,

Well I made it through the night!

We are having torrential rains and some street flooding. I just lost a huge tree in my back pasture due to super saturation. I'm not going investigating until later though
