Waiting for The Great British Bake-Off to start. I just love that program and can't wait for the Dutch edition to start again.

Took advantage of a coolish night and mowed the lawn - amazing what a week of torrential rains will do for growth of green stuff! Love my Fiskars mower!

Trying to figure out why so few people have entered my giveaway for Peter Watts' new novel Echopraxia. It's US/Canada only, but the majority of visitors are from there, so don't understand it. Are people unwilling to enter their email addresses?

On topic: I'm sitting in my vehicle awaiting my brother, with whom I'll be spending this beautiful, late summer Friday. I'm getting old enough and thus have lost enough loved ones to have learned that such opportunities are not unlimited; each should be seized, savored, and cherished. At least the reasons aren't as baffling now. Drinking some coffee, trying to decide what to read next. |

Debating with myself whether or not to walk Luca early tonight, since I'm tired and just want to curl up in bed. The drawback of doing that is that tomorrow morning I have to get up in time to walk her and I can't have a bit of a lie in.

Currently I'm making a shopping list for tomorrow and I'm wondering if it's too early to order take-out. |

Last might the S.O. made strombolis from scratch. They were delicious. I told my grandson we should tell her that her job from here on out is to make strombolis every day. That and her world-famous lasagna. Tonight I'm lazing out and cooking store bought pizza, but I will add some extra cheese. Tomorrow night I'll make either Hamburger Helper or spaghetti. We have some pork chops, so I think I'll move them in the morning from the deep freeze to the refrigerator and cook them on Tuesday. I need to go to the store to get another roast. My wife's slow cooker really does them up nice.
And now to walk Nortie before it gets too dark. Ta ta! |

Yeah that stuff is hot, hot, hot.
I am trying to decide if I like the fact that my Husband is not toning down the food he is making and giving it to Little Man. LM seems to eat it although the last few times he has said his mouth is hot and then downed his milk. He goes back for more. So the plus is that he is going to quickly become acclimated to eating spicy food and he is increasing his milk consumption. A part of me wonders if the spice level is good for his tummy at the age of 2. |
