Replacement ordered, but probably will be a week until I get it.

Ouch -- as an RGP wearer, I know how frustrating it is, trying to find a missing lens when you can't see without it. I'm fortunate, in that I can mostly get by without my lens for a while, depending on what I'm doing, but I never feel completely comfortable without it. And I've lost it twice in the last year -- once I found it, once I did not.

Woot. Pleased to say I found the lens! I'd been feeling minor irritation in the eye, so had been rubbing the eye through the eye lid. Opened the eye and I could see!

Decided to try my usual lens removal technique; push down on one edge of the lens, removed my finger from the eye, and .... there it was!

Just gave it a good clean and reinserted it All good

Of course in the past my wife would have been able to help; she had become proficient in finding the lens if it wandered, and using a plunger to remove it, by today is the one year anniversary of her passing..

Glad you found it, Peter! I've never found the need for plungers, I just pull on the corner of the eye, blink hard, and catch it in my other hand. (Or on the towel just below that.) But everyone has a different method.

The plunger was purely for my wife's benefit. My experience has been that when the RGP is not on the pupil any of the regular removal techniques did not work; neither the pull on the corner of the eye, or my preferred one which is to push down on one side of the lens.

The plunger also let her slide the lens more easily than using her finger in the eye.
