I was just looking through one of the on-line photo spreads of how Celebs spend their time at the beach. Out of about 50 photos, I think I recognized 3 names...
Who ARE these people?!? Stitchawl |

Thinking about curtains. I've never had curtains in my room, actually most of the house as the squirrels don't gossip. My bed and window are almost do east. I'm not normally in bed during the day so haven't thought about it. The sun glares right onto my pillow

UPDATE: Dateline - Chiang Mai
I went out with my camera this morning, daring to brave the marauding hordes. All seven of them. The only way there will be bloodshed in Chiang Mai will be if one of the seven (7) soldiers I could find drops his cell phone on his toe... I rode all over town, hitting all the major gathering points. I saw three soldiers at the Chiang Puak bus station. They asked me to wait until they put on their shirts, helmets, and web belts before I took their picture. I found two soldiers at Thapae Gate but they were too engrossed in their cell phones to notice I was taking a picture. I saw two more at the train station. I imagine that there were a few out at the airport but I didn't want to risk incurring more serious combat-related stress so I went to my favorite restaurant and ordered and ice tea. Glad to hear it's All Quiet on the Northern Front... Hmm, that sounds like a book I never read. Stay safe, Stitchy.

Looking for a photo printing service that prints in both 3x4 as in 4x6 format, neither of which are common sizes in the Netherlands. I found several stores that prints 4x6, but not 3x4. And yes, I can merge two of the smaller size into one bigger but it would just be so much easier if the software of the store either can do that on its own or it can print the smaller size.

Sitting down to finally watch the second Hobbit movie. I was by no means excited enough to pay almost 15 bucks (plus the cost of snacks) to see it in the theater, so I waited until I could rent it for $1.30 through Redbox.

Update: Chiang Mai, Sunday, May 25
Well I guess the military didn't care for the protesters last in gathered at Chiang Puak Gate. Today there were hundreds of armed and helmeted troops all around the city, in squad groups rather than 2's and 3's. There are half a dozen Police 'Paddy Wagons,' each large enough to transport 20-30 detainees, parked at Chiang Puak Gate, next to several Armored Personnel Carriers, and a whole lotta guns! I saw squads of soldiers waiting at a dozen different strategic points around the city, each with its own vehicle for mobilization. I don't think there will be many protesters out tonight... Here's a snapshot (not mine) of what's going on in the center of town... ![]() This one squad is larger than ALL the soldiers combined that I saw yesterday. Today is a very different day. Still no problems, but if the protesters come out tonight, a lot will be spending tomorrow in jail. Stitchawl Last edited by Stitchawl; 05-25-2014 at 04:01 AM. |

Having a lazy Sunday. I spend the morning in bed, reading. Lexie decided that my bed was preferable to her current spot on the windowsill and snuggled up against me.
I'm now uploading pictures to get them printed. For this afternoon I have a long Tropico 5 session planned. I haven't played much since its release on Friday, but I do like the looks of this instalment. |

Just came in from cutting the grass with the riding mower. I got the grass in the enclosed area yesterday.

So last night my wife was complaining that she couldn't pee and had pain on her right side. I knew she was serious when she asked ME to drive her to the hospital (the boss never lets me drive). We were there from about eleven something PM until after four in the morning. Turns out she has a 4.5 mm kidney stone. She was given some meds for pain and something to help relax her so she can urinate. My poor baby was throwing up into the same style hospital barf bags I was throwing up into 2 weeks earlier to the day. I told her she generated that kidney stone because of all the attention I was getting for my fractures. I wonder if when you reach a certain age hospitals start handing out perks like frequent flier miles? You know, like coupons good for 10% off your next visit to the ER or something? My wife said we're certainly getting our money's worth out of our medical insurance the last couple of weeks. |

If they had has frequent flyer miles it would have been for my boy from two to eight. That BIG headed child could not keep himself out of trouble

Thanks, kk. And I hope you soon find relief for your pain. I know you prefer a more active lifestyle than you must currently be living.
