This one seems to have worked, hopefully it’s good enough.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but I have just replaced my seven year old Glo HD with a Clara 2E because the battery life on the Glo HD was starting to get a bit short. I ordered the Clara 2E from Kobo in the UK on 21 December, and it arrived on 24 December, which is pretty good.
The Clara 2E is a bit thinner and light, which is nice, and the display is a bit better. I have "natural light" set to auto and I like this feature much more than I expected - it makes reading last thing at night or first thing in the morning more pleasant. Waterproofing is nice to have. My one complaint is that the back is a bit slippery. In contrast, the Glo HD has a grippier soft touch back, and my even older Glo also has a grippy front. I think this is very useful when reading in places where I really wouldn't want to drop my Kobo, for example on public transport. |

Help need
![]() Can anybody help me? I recently received a Clara 2E as a gift to replace my old ereader. As I have seen in some advertising, it is capable of storing up to 13,000 books. Is there a way to see them like in a PC explorer (folders and subfolders), or can they just be all in one group (MyBooks) which makes it unusable or very cumbersome? Regards |

![]() I have tried the Author and Collection methods. The second is interesting, but very uncomfortable to create with the ereader itself. But the option that you suggest to create it with Calibre, could be the solution. Do you know if there is some kind of tutorial to see how to do it? I've only used Calibre to convert formats. |

I travel a lot, and use library books. Many times I am reading a book that has expired, so I make sure I top up the charge so it doesn't die, thereby making it impossible to open the expired book. As a result, I was unable to test this further. I did let it run down as often as I could though. For a while, it was hitting around 35%, then rapidly depleting. It later went to 20% or so, and now I am happy to report it went to 10% last night and gave me the low battery warning. I read a bit more, then closed the cover, a magnetic cover, came back to it a few hours later, and it showed the "charge your reader" page. It had gone to zero percent. It looks as if the battery system has reset and it is acting properly now. Phil |

The code below was clipped from a post in this thread long ago as a method to install extracted, encrypted system fonts on another Kobo. Am I to replace src/root/fonts/ with the font location on my computer, for example, F:/Kobo/fonts/xxxxx.ttf? (as well as matching font name at the end, of course).
![]() Code:
## ADDITIONAL FILES ## # Uncomment the following to add additional files to the tgz (like init scripts or hyphen dicts) # The files will be root-owned, and world readable, writable, and executable (0777) files: src/root/fonts/Avenir-Bold.ttf: usr/local/Trolltech/QtEmbedded-4.6.2-arm/lib/fonts/Avenir-Bold.ttf src/root/fonts/Avenir-BoldItalic.ttf: usr/local/Trolltech/QtEmbedded-4.6.2-arm/lib/fonts/Avenir-BoldItalic.ttf src/root/fonts/Avenir-Italic.ttf: usr/local/Trolltech/QtEmbedded-4.6.2-arm/lib/fonts/Avenir-Italic.ttf src/root/fonts/Avenir.ttf: usr/local/Trolltech/QtEmbedded-4.6.2-arm/lib/fonts/Avenir.ttf |

How different under the hood is it? Is it the same basic OS as the Clara HD? I’ve got a heavily modified firmware and am wondering how easy it’d be to migrate them to the new OS
