@NiLuJe,
I believe the ClaraHD is finally working. ![]() Did you need to examine more debug logs from the (hopefully) fixed Clara? |

@jackie_w: Yay
![]() If you updated with debug still enabled, I won't say no, but if you disabled it at the same time, it's probably not worth the bother unless you find something else going kablooey ^^. Thanks! |

@jackie_w: Thanks
![]() Code:
-- detected a change in framebuffer bitdepth, refreshing -- 16 -> 32 -- new fb state -- rota 3 @ 32bpp (That's something I knew needed to be done going in [it's essentially why fbink_reinit exists], but that I apparently completely forgot about along the way ^^. Compounded by how I did the initial testing (by running MiniClock manually long after boot, so everything's already setup properly by Nickel), and how my devices are setup (with KFMon's boot progress bar, so no pickel), and the fact that with a bit of luck, the broken setup could actually mostly work, this completely flew under the radar -_-". Extra fun fact: I did it properly in the FBInk daemon ![]() Last edited by NiLuJe; 12-27-2019 at 03:50 PM. |

How about creating a dedicated MiniClock thread?
As it is now, the thread title states that this is for the Clara e-reader, and the OP is a question about if it's possible to show a clock while reading. Post #6 looks like it has the answer with links to MiniClock files, but those who have read the whole thread "know" that it's post #311 that has the latest version. |

And for those of us who are new to this, could you please point to the directions for enabling the file found in post #311?

Thanks @NiLuJe! I think @ICDeadPpl has a point that it can be difficult for the rest of us to know where in this thread to look for all pieces of the puzzle.
I'm looking forward to trying this on the new Clara I ordered (scheduled to arrive tomorrow) on a Boxing Week sale for CAD$99. |

I have just finished applying the MiniClock to my Clara. I would like to know if I can decrease the update delay any further. I am using kepubs and I found the default setting of 1 1 1 left about a 2 second delay before the clock appears after a page turn. I switched the setting to a single 1 and the delay is down to about 1.5 seconds. I tried fractions (.5), but that made the clock disappear.

fractions should work, but some delay is inevitable. you can only show the clock after the new page has finished rendering... other way around the new page would remove the clock instead

@HempOil: If you only read KePubs, see this rant about how the awful performance of the ePub renderer means I had to screw everyone with a larger delay
![]() (i.e., you can revert that bit of insanity (by moving the sleep between the "delay" debug log and the continue) for slightly better reactivity if you never ever touch an ePub). |

Hi @NiLuJe, would you be able to provide the specific config? I don't have a coding background.

Okay, #311 updated
![]() There's a new setting, "aggressive_timing", which, when set to 1, will toggle the behavior mentioned earlier, which should help getting the clock updated much closer to the page turn when reading KePubs. As explained earlier and in the config, this is disabled by default, because the ePub reader is terrible (i.e., there's no behavior change with the default settings). The list of things that "break" this more aggressive behavior is non-exhaustive, so, if you try it, and find something else that "breaks" but worked with the defaults, do mention it, so I can at least document it ![]() I also fixed a related issue that prevented the "delay" setting from actually handling decimal values (and, worse, took down MiniClock with it if you tried), and amended the comments around it to explain how it interacts with "aggressive_timing" ![]() TL;DR: I did the testing on a H2O with: Code:
aggressive_timing=1 delay=0.25 0.5 1 Last edited by NiLuJe; 01-06-2020 at 02:21 PM. |

Localization don't work correctly on my Aura
I'm new to using MiniClock since today. At the moment I just have on issue with it, because my localitations (German) don't work correctly.
But month is missing: Mi 15. 18:00 What am I doing wrong? Edit: Truly embarrassing. After an hour or so I found my idiotic mistake, I forgot the # before months. Sorry, I must be blind. Last edited by MeiGuddet; 01-15-2020 at 05:57 PM. Reason: Mistake found |
