Das mit dem start-reading kann ich nachvollziehen, aber wieso soll das TOC nach hinten? Bei mir ist das immer vorn (plus im Menü). Also ich find das ganz angenehm, vorn zu sehen, wie viele Kapitel da so auf einen zukommen...

Ich weigere mich auch standhaft inhaltsangaben oder den Buchrücken zu lesen, damit ich nicht schon was verraten bekomme, bevor ich's gelesen hab

Darfst ruhig eigen sein. Also keine Inhaltsangaben. Aber wie wählst Du dann eigentlich die Bücher aus, die Du lesen willst?

Bestenlisten*, Rezensionen, aber in erster Linie Empfehlungen von Freunden und Bekannten - man merkt ja recht schnell, ob das Urteil der betreffenden Person den eigenen Geschmack trifft - und wenn man das nicht weiß trifft man sichersten mit Empfehlungen wie "wenn Dir x gefallen hat, dann gefällt dir sicher auch y" ins Schwarze

Ich kenn übrigens tatsächlich einige Leute, die grundsätzlich zuerst den Schluss lesen. So was kann ich ja überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Das ist eigentlich ne Marktlücke, die man locker mit Ebooks schließen könnte: Bücher, bei denen der Schluss vorne steht. Oder in der Mitte, für alle, die wenigstens ein bisschen Spannung wollen.
