I want one! Can't wait! Went to the Kobo website where I've ordered all my previous Kobos and read that pre-orders will be taken at the end of this month.

I am anticipating a potentially more immersive reading experience with the larger screen. It's fun to play around with different sized readers, I find aspects of each sized reader to enjoy. I love my Kobos and still pull out my K mini occasionally even though most of my time is spent with the Aura HD and H2O.

It's really cool that Kobo is pushing the ereader development envelope. I salute them for that.

I've encountered this on my two Kobo's. I must admit I put it down to the size of the kobos triggering the mobile site first for sign in. I would expect even if this still happens with the Aura One it will be easier to deal with on the larger screen.

I notice Amazon carries kobo. How long does it usually take a new kobo product to appear on Amazon? What's the return policy when you buy a kobo reader from Amazon? I do have prime.

I ask because there is no place around here that carries kobo and no-one I know is going to get this, so there's no way for me to try it hands on.

Thanks

I think you'll find its not Amazon themselves but third party resellers selling through Amazon.

I like the concept and the pics so far very much.

I have been reading on a Tolino Vision 3 this spring and summer and have been enchanted, so I can imagine that the Aura One will be a beauty (they seem from the pics and hardware description to be in the same device family, apart from the display size).

I am not in the market for a big e-reader right now, but by Xmas and if your reviews here (I trust my MR members much more than journalists) are good, there is a good chance I'll order one. I should be ashamed, really, because as I said the Tolino has been great and there is no reason at all to replace it...

Massachusetts sales tax is 6.25 % Connecticut is a little higher 6.35 % . New Hampshire has no sales tax at all. Lucky Them !

Here in Nova Scotia sales tax is 15%. No sales tax sounds great!

California State Base rate is 8.25
Los Angeles County is now 10% (the highest)
Many others are in between

Still absurdly high considering the Stat also has Income and Property Taxes.
(not all states have all 3)

Addressing older posts about H2O quality: I found that sometimes the quality control of the H2O is a hit and miss (from reading threads about it, and I wouldn't be surprised). My H2O has lasted me a year so far, with me dropping it once (resulting in a small dent) and other times with not much happening to it. So I think it really depends. Nothing wrong so far with the device I have. It feels like a tank but maybe that's because I put a case on it.

I really hope this new one will be the same.

I want this new Kobo because I love big screen sizes for ereaders. Not a fan of small screen reading. If I wanted that I would use a cellphone. Anyways I'm ecstatic that it's bigger than the H2O. Maybe I will see it in person and if it's worth the hype once it's out.

I love the Oberon covers, except for one thing, which I find horrible: those bands. I like a slimfit cover. So, my covers are boring but at least it doesn't have those bands.

The best covers Oberon ever came out with were the sleeves, but they were discontinued. They should bring them back, but lose the magnetic closures. The snug fit alone keeps your ereader from falling out.

My favorite were the B&N covers that clipped the book to the cover.

my favorite were the silicon shells, but no one seems to make them for the current generation of Kobo's, or most other ereaders.
