Hello, new to the forum but I wanted to ask something about Calibre,
- What finance/economics magazines/newspapers calibre gets access to? Paid and Unpaid? I couldn't find a such a list. - Also what are such finance/economics resources that can be accessed through custom recipes, the topic is quite big in the forum and haven't seen a list there either? Any paid content from FT, WSJ, Efinancialnews or such? If not, say I have a subscription, could a custom recipe be written to fetch news from a paid section of such a website or to get a daily newsletter from a members area of a investment advisory site lets say? Thanks and good job! Last edited by neln; 05-30-2010 at 07:48 AM. |

TOC links on Aluratek Libre
Hi,
I have Aluratek Libre Pro reader. I download news magazines like CNN using Calibre. The links on the table contents to navigate to a section or news article are not clickable and I have to skip all the pages until I can reach a news article. But this is not the case with readers like Sony 505, where the TOC links (and end-of-article links like Main Menu, Next etc.) are clickable. Is there any solution to this issue? Thanks |

Is there an easy way to remove double files/entries? Calibre doesn't say they're the same, because of a different name.. but when I use the program 'FSlint' for example.. it does find them.. but they stay in the Calibre database.. without any formats to choose.
Is there a way to remove these? Or to sort them, a list of books without formats/files? It's probably a search that's really easy.. but I can't figure it out ![]() |

This is odd. FSlint finds duplicate files, so how could there be duplicate files, but no formats to choose? If you want to know where the dupes are, FSLint should tell you the directory structure where it found the file, and that should tell you the author and title. If you really do want to find ebook entries in Calibre's database, with no formats, use this: Code:
format:false Last edited by Starson17; 06-13-2010 at 08:47 AM. |

Just to clarify a point, which of the following are you trying to achieve: - Detect entries that have no associated format defined in the Calibre database - Entries that have a format defined, but the underlying file for that format has been removed I suspect it is the latter which is why the search criteria given is not working? It is looking purely at the metadata.db database file. I believe that with the latest versions of Calibre if you use the option to check database integrity it will find the cases where the underlying file has been removed and update the database accordingly. note that with large librAries this can take quite a while to complete. Having done that the search term should then work. |

If you haven't done it, you should run Preferences -> Advanced -> Check database integrity. That will clean missing formats out of the db. It won't add extra books in, though.
