Amazon announces: Echo

I did get an invite and got the Echo. I'm a prime customer but the price when I added it to the cart said 199.00. However I was charged only 99.00

Oh, Happy Day!!! I was able to order an Echo about 15 minutes ago for $99 (Prime member price)! It's scheduled for delivery on Friday, January 2. I put in my invite request on November 7, so it's been a long wait, as I know it's been for many others here.

It's been reported in the past that customers were able to purchase before actually receiving an invitation (it was probably scheduled to be sent soon). I haven't yet received an invite but was able to add an Echo to my cart and complete checkout with this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00L9EOQCO. Try it now, even if you've tried before!

Interesting. I just bought an Echo via your link (at the $99 Prime invite price - FYI: I am a Prime member). And I've already received a confirmation email with an expected delivery on Wednesday. The Echo product page is now thanking me for my purchase. I hope this isn't a glitch!

So happy. I had just refreshed the Echo page for the gazillion time and I saw a Add to Cart. I was momentarily confused.

Finally, I have been waiting since November 6th. I put in an invite the first day it was up.

Got 1 day ship so I could get it on Wednesday. Otherwise I would have had to wait until January 6th.

I had tried the "add to cart" link earlier today. As usual, the purchase wouldn't clear checkout. When it actually DID work when I tried again about an hour later, I was shocked!

Our daughter's boyfriend gave us $50 in Amazon gift cards for Christmas that we'd earmarked for an Echo, so the timing was great.

Could be. I'll be happy to post if I receive one. Right now I'm just looking for a tracking number.

I do find it suspicious that three members that have periodically posted wanting one could all order in an approximate hour's window. I have been checking Amazon almost daily since my request as well. I could be considered number four since I directly used DreamWriter's link to order. Just feels like either a glitch or Amazon is about to open the doors for ordering.
