When I used T68 for the very first time I was disappointed, it was slower than I was expecting but after I update to the 14-10-2014 firmware I felt a huge improvement and I was happy with that.
I don't use T68 to read but to run "flight navigation" apps, is true! ![]() Some links about the flight navigation software being used with e-Ink devices: http://www.tophatsoaring.org/Kobo.html http://max.kellermann.name/projects/xcsoar/kobo.html http://forum.xcsoar.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1728 |

Wow flight navigation? Exciting... I'm an aviation enthusiast and ex-virtual-pilot and I was always wondering what the redundancy of the electronics used for critical purposes is (ipads etc)... I hope your T68 doesn't freeze up/reboot while you're piloting the B747-400 I'm in :P |

I am a paraglider pilot not a big airplane pilot
![]() If I use the A2 mode I don't have any issues at all but the maps are not detailed ![]() By the way, this firmware fixes all the issues I had with wifi. |

You can also set it to refresh on every page turn. That should guarantee good image quality.

The software I am using is not to read, they refresh page every second. I got an email from the developer and this is what he wrote:
One user has tried to install my patched XCSoar version on an updated T68, and the dithering mode did not work. He never tried the special T68 XCSoar version before the update, so it is not clear whether the update has anything to do with it. But just to be safe, do not install it for the time being. He is building a new version to detect the T68 properly using the new firmware version. Last edited by TiGuy82; 10-22-2014 at 05:08 PM. |

The autocrop mostly often works fine, but sometimes it slightly misses. It would be nice to have a possibility to refine it. It would be perfect if the initial selection of the selection zoom came from the result of autocrop.

what are actually the improvements in T68?
Booxtor reports the new features and improvements for M96 but doesn't list anything below the T68 update file. What are actually the news?

Updates for T68 and M96 are always almost identical. The only difference is in some supported hardware of those models (different screens, different kinds of touch panels (capacitive or inductive), front light, different buttons, etc...)

With the latest firmware (2014-10-14) I'm having a problem with my T68 (bought at erader-store.de):
The T68 is stuck in some kind of loop at the "Now starting" screen. I then went back to the previous firmware (2014-10-14) and everything is fine. Anyone using the 2014-10-14 firmware successfully? For me it is not working. |

@PremaEbooks
Did you update by copying update.zip to the root directory and then via the settings dialog? That was what I did. |

Finally I was able to install the latest firmware (2014-10-14) on the 3rd attempt. This time I
- removed my books from the internal disk - upgraded via the settings dialog - copied back the books Maybe there was not enough space left for the upgrade on my first two attempts, but that is just a wild guess. Prior to removing the books the drive was 87% full, at the time of the successful install it was at 53%. |

thanks |

Onyx themselves do not distribute updates. They are developing new features and fixing bugs and these changes are packed by the vendors who sell Onyx devices (along with their own additions/fixes to their own software) and the complete new firmwares are then pushed by these vendors to their customers.
This particular thread is dedicated to the Onyx T68 devices sold by Booxtor on ereader-store.eu, however Booxtor published a guide for how you can install his firmwares on T68 devices bought from different vendors (who have their own updates once in a while).
