ooookay, after the accuracy issues with my T68, I figured that I would have no trouble with my M96 that arrived today...
Not so it seems, have a look at this clip: A gap were the pen location jumps side to side I don't think I've seen this reported before, but I could be wrong. Anyone seen this before? Or is it a hardware fault? |

It's just that entire strip, from top to bottom, the rest is fine - I've been in contact with Booxtor, and he's sending me a new digitiser to replace the existing one as that seems to be to blame.
My only other gripe with accuracy is that the pen registers contact with the base of the nib (where the pen tip is), rather than the tip of the nib, but that I can learn to work with. I've ordered a spare stylus and I'm going to cut off the nib and see if that helps me when I need to draw accurately. |

If it is available, I don't know where it is. I'm not even sure it would be possible to fix the calibration.
If I hold the pen completely vertical, the nib is accurate. It's holding the pen at an angle that you have trouble. I think it's because the nib is bigger than the old stylus, so the effect is more pronounced. |

Could some of the owners help me:
I have currently M92 and want to change to M96. I would like to know if it will be possible to run Microsoft OneNote on the device. It is crucial to me. I know that the newest version works only on android 4.1, but there is also a little older wersion that works on android 4.0 : http://www.appsapk.com/one-note/ If You are able to run it, please write if You are able to draw with a stylus as well. Best regards, Michael |

I'm afraid the answer is "unusable". It installs, runs, syncs, but the actual note taking section is just pure black.
It seems like it's a custom drawing routine for entry, and it does not agree with e-ink. Last edited by fozzedout; 11-22-2014 at 05:58 PM. |

I was contemplating using the BOOX M96 as a form of a word processing system for people who have a vision issue known as scotopic sensitivity, essentially looking at a normal LCD/TV is rather painful and difficult to work with for more than a few minutes. eInk naturally offers a much nicer viewing experience for these people and as such I’m contemplating using the M96 with external keyboard and either a web-based text input or Android/Linux editing app ( LyX would be nice, but perhaps a bit heavy for the M96, though maybe usable via X over SSH to another machine ).
Has anyone done something similar before that you’re aware of? |

Does anyone know if any not ridicously overpriced ereaders with big screen, good resolution and light will be released in the near future. If not I will buy the M96.
Whats the difference between the Booxtor version from ereader-store.de and the Arta Tech version available from Amazon? Have you had good experiences with ereader-store.de? |

I chose the Booxter version over the Arts Tech for my M96 as support was reported to be top notch.
There appears to be a physical defect with mine, the digitiser, and when I reported it, Booxter has sent out a replacement part, which I will be replacing tonight. As far as for firmware, I believe that Booxtor is quite keen on keeping his firmware updated, whereas it feels like the Arta Tech firmware is updated more slowly. Finally, I had originally ordered an M96 from Arts Tech through Amazon, but it arrived without a pen, so I returned it, I wasn't going to pay £20-£30 for something that should have been in the box. I then ordered from Booxtor, and although I had to wait for it to come back into stock, it did come with the new fat stylus. |

Thanks for the fast Reply.
Im unsure whether to get the M96 or M92. I need it mainly for PDF reading. Am I correct that both only have Wifi and no Wlan? I dont really know much about Android nor Linux (correct me if Im wrong but the M92 has Linux Os, right?). Is it possible to download Apps on my PC and install them from my SD card? Can you download other Reader Software for the M92? Is the M96 noticeable faster or does the Android Os just use up all the extra performance? |

Now I don't have an M92, however one of the things that attracted me to the M96 was that it has access to the android eco system of applications & the android sdk, and can be loaded from the internet through the WiFi or through the sdcard. For further, more integrated applications, you can also use the onyx sdk in addition to the android sdk which covers both the M96 and the T68, and possibly future devices as well.
On the other hand, the M92 as far as I'm aware is a locked down device with no side loading of applications. Also, any applications that could possibly be loaded on would have to be written using the M92 SDK and API structure as everything had to be developed from the ground up - something that I'm not aware we have access to, or even if we do, if people would want to invest time and effort into learning for such a niche market. I'm afraid I'll have to bow to others who have an M92 and an M96 to answer questions about performance. |
