I thought MR was a commune. So why you been charging us $300 each time? And, hey, isn't a commune supposed to be fiscally neutral to its members?

Ouch.

I've given my girls plenty of lectures on the importance of not getting pregnant until you're ready to take care of a child, and we've also stressed that it's an extremely difficult job to do solo, but I wouldn't throw them out for it!

Not quite sure what we'd do (it would be partially up to the daughter), but that wouldn't be the answer.

Then again, both of my girls were abandoned, and I think they have pretty strong feelings about not wanting to have children they can't take care of. Hopefully that will help them keep their heads when the rest of their bodies start urging them in certain directions....

Well my daughter is a well-balanced 35 year old now, with a job, her own house and car.

It's about 4:00 am and I am starting to feel better. I'm not so certain it was food poisoning now. I think I may have actually done this to myself (by not washing my hands as well as I should after cleaning the cat boxes ... it was late and I was tired).

My neighbor, Teresa, came over and looked after the animals, so that was a huge help. I mostly slept all day (after the worst of the symptoms passed). So, I'm thinking I'll be fine by the time I need to start doing my chores tomorrow.

Apparently my next door neighbor has the same thing. I feel fine when I'm lying down, but I can't stand up for more than five minutes without breaking into a cold sweat and doubling over.

Hired someone to walk the dogs today, and when it's time to take Teresa's dogs out, I'm just going to dash over there, leave the door open for them and crash on her couch for a while. I wish I could do that with my dogs, but, no way.
