Heard the above listening to the news this morning.

We got our Covid and Flu shots the day before this came out. It is a rare reaction, but associated with the high dosage flu shots which Mom gets.

So annoyed. Notification of reduced price on an Elizabeth George ebook. Went to Amazon. They changed the ASIN numbers or something because now it shows I don't own any of the books in the Lynley series! Went back to my Content and Devices and clicked on one of the owned books. Turns out they now have this series listed twice - one with books that I own and one without. Geeze louise, do we need such confusion?

I've seen books reissued on Kobo too, a book I already owned showed up as recommended.

Or my wife's favourite when an author reissues a series with new covers and new titles and, in most cases, no indication on the web page that this is an reissue.

In many cases, this is a change from one publisher to another, or a second edition. So, for example, once an author manages to wrest their rights back from a dead publisher, they then re-issue the books as self-published or a new publisher (that could well be one they own).

I dislike when the author gets their rights back and then has to re-edit the books to "improve" them. Then, in another year, rename them and rewrite them again. Not buying the same book again and again because you can't quit messing with it.

Not just romance. One indie publisher based in Las Vegas has on more than one occasion taken a series and re-issued it splitting each book into two parts so a 5 book series becomes a 10 book series for example. Of course, each book in the new series needs a new title. On the bright side, at the bottom of the book blurb, they did have "Originally published as part of old book title:.
