I've slipped to 8 books behind on my TBR, now, so I'm kind of hoping there aren't any more good deals on my wishlist books for a while.

Did I miss out on the 50% coupon? Oh well, if I did. I have those books Paul, but they are still TBR. I used one credit this month at Audible to get a book in a series I already read....They didn't tell me about the 4 credit deal. Guess I'll have to look for that.

It's the 11th December and I've only bought two books (other than subscriptions) this month so far.

Unless there's some fantastic Amazon daily deal before the end of the year, I think I'll come in under budget!

Next year will be trickier - I'm cutting my budget by 20% down to £20 per month, on average.

But since I have £90 in Amazon credits to spend before the end of January, it looks like I'll be well over budget until at least July. I think I'll have to cut off book buying completely after January 31st.

Well, I kindof fell on the Audible 50% off sale. So far though, I kept to stuff on my wishlist and in fact, many of the books aren't a deal because half of their retail price is still higher than my credit. I'm getting some novellas that fill in series for me though.

A 50% off sale seems like a good reason to buy, provided that they're on your wishlist.

I've only bought one book not on my wishlist this month, and that was this month's book club read.

16 days to go in 2015, and still £6.96 left in my budget!

I've managed to avoid the Audible 50% off trap this year. I've had enough credits of late to keep me in books, and when I don't, I've hit enough WhisperSync deals that the 50% doesn't seem like such a great deal.

Overall, I've managed to keep my total eBook costs to a number I can live with this year. But the enforced tracking I've imposed on myself has made me much more aware of costs, and I expect next year's book costs to go down some more. Especially since my TBR is up again this year.

Well, I got two books at the Audible sale and if I'm honest, I have to admit that the sale created the want. Good thing I don't count audiobooks! (They're not a big problem, actually.)

My biggest problem lately, oddly enough, has been pbooks and my 2016 resolves mostly concern them. I hope Paul doesn't mind my mentioning them here. My resolution is to buy none at all in the first six months of 2016.

That said, I recognize the lurking problem with ebooks. I congratulate myself that I've got that licked and in truth, I mostly have. I make only the occasional odd purchase, absent a Kobopalooza. But the reality is that while I'll have read roughly 140 books this year, given that some are pbooks or library books or public domain and many are audiobooks which I count as "read," it doesn't take that many purchases for my TBR to climb instead of to shrink. I'm not at the point where I'm up to a dread day of reckoning and the pbooks are the more pressing problem anyway, since they take up physical space. Thus I have to keep in mind that I can only make the extremely rare ebook purchase if I'm ever to shrink my virtual mountain.

I am book lover. I have read 50 books this year. All books are really very impressive and knowledgeable. I read book not very fast, it is very time consuming process for me.

Welcome to MR, Rosemary! Fifty books is a great total. In any case, so long as you love reading, that's the only important thing. There are no contests here except perhaps with yourself. Some of us like to set goals, but only because we get more enjoyment out of our reading if we do. You might like to look at this thread, where people will be tracking their 2016 reading.

I managed to read 45 books this year. I buy way too many for what I read. Guess my goal should be more reading than buying. It's tough around Christmas since I get gift cards and money and want to buy books! Well, maybe I'll splurge for now and then not buy anymore for a long while. (Also getting a Kobo Glo HD for Christmas. Oooohhh I can't wait!!!!!!!!)

It's tricky, isn't it? I read 200+ books a year, and I still buy too many.

I just spent $9.99 on 1635: A Parcel of Rogues by Eric Flint and Andrew Dennis. It is not supposed to be out until January 5, 2016, but it was released early and I could not resist. I have already started reading it.
