The whole shebang is pretty much shot. The wife is going to check to see what the warranty covers. I had just mentioned to a neighbor a couple of weeks ago that the pool was on its last legs, and pointed out a spot where the siding had rusted through. Sure enough, it ripped right down that rust line.

Sadly, our son had built the deck to conform to the contours of the pool. If we decide not to get another pool, we're going to have a mighty strange looking deck, and if we get another pool, it might be hard fitting it into the space vacated by the old one.

Hmmm... since a thick layer of sand lies beneath the pool, perhaps we could turn the area onto a giant sandbox for adults.

The wife is sad because we lost the old iMac to a thunderstorm a couple of weeks ago and now this. I'm sad because not only do Norton and I not have anywhere to go swimming, but on top of that my wife keeps wanting to use my computer! But she'll be happy again when Apple finally releases the iPad 5 because she's already laid claim to the one I'm typing this on.

Ha! One more thing that's broke: the push mower. But that's no biggie as it's only the cable to the deadman switch and the replacement cable arrived in the mail yesterday. That, at least, should be up and running in no time.

That's a real shame, particularly in this weather. We have a large blow-up, which now won't, and EVERYWHERE has sold out of paddling pools, so the kids are having to make do with running through the sprinkler. Not quite the same thing...

We spent our childhood running through either the sprinkler or the garden hose, depending on whose back yard we were in. Or... when we couldn't get to somebody's private house (we grew up in apartment buildings) we'd run through the fire hydrant that the firemen would cap with a shower head and turn on for the kids each afternoon.



Those were good days... No computers, we had to play outdoors. Had to talk face to fact with each other...

In these days of water conservation, and Health & Safety restrictions, I bet they don't do that anymore...

Right now I'm tuning my new DAB radio. After years of searching (not every day, you understand) I have finally found a DAB radio that is shower proof, so I can at last ditch my old shower radio and actually get some proper reception (and non-FM radio stations). Looking forward to my shower later today .
