Those are same.Just different Factory firmware version.Dose amazon lock the New factory device and change something to Ban downgrate result in my condition?

Firmware version numbers please.

Amazon has not had time to ban downgrade.

The pw3, factory, 5.7.4 is from 2 day old Kindle.

I tried to downgrade from 5.7.3.1 and 5.8.1, both failed.This device is factory
version 5.7.4, I bought it on 2nd july, 2016

My Kindle's serial isn't listed above. It's G0B0GU, but the closest in the list G0B0GD (Oasis 3G + Wifi). Will this be a problem?

You will not be able to run the 'hotfix' (step #6) which is required.
None of our add-in packages will recognize your model and install.

One is on the West coast of the USA, the other is in France.

I'll check them, but you are probably correct, a network glitch.

We will be making some distribution changes in the next few days that should make it easier for the users to pick the best site for their location.

What firmware version was in use on the one that DID work?

Was the same method of file transfer used in all cases?

Does the file still pass the md5sum test or was it damaged while on the PC?

What PC OS?
That was Chinese-WinXP if I had to guess.

This is a replacement Kindle (the other one had screen issues). I seem to remeber the replacment packaging said it was either made in or came from Japan if that means anything. I don't have the packaging anymore so can't confirm.

@beic: That's going to be tricky, because that doesn't fit any of the unidentified models I have on hand...
Which means my current decoding method is wrong, and I have four possible matches for your device, which doesn't help.

I'll possibly have to send you four different files to test via PM to pinpoint the right one, but it's going to take a while.

And I'll then have to figure out how to actually decode those damn device codes properly. We're on take three already :/.

There could be some embedded relationship we did not spot when they first changed the serial number format.

We have one interesting trouble report of a PW-3, first six identical on two devices, one an early purchase, one a recent purchase, same factory-5.7.4 downgrade file - -
The early (older one) worked, the recent (new one) is stuck on YKNR.
