The iPad mini is ~5mm taller, but the Kobo is ~4mm wider. The iPad is made of metal so it's no surprise it's significantly heavier. I'm not sure if I like the bezels on the new Kobo. They seem just a bit too small. I have a large hands and large hands usually come with large fingers. I'm a fairly big guy with big thumbs and I doubt I'd be able to hold the device comfortably without my fingers touching the display.

The rumour I heard was that it will have either a built-in coffee maker or ice cream dispenser. I'm hoping for the coffee maker as the idea of "bugs in the software" takes on a completely different meaning when talking about an ice cream dispenser.

Personally, I'm really curious about the "comfort light" - or whatever marketing name they give to this - that looks like f.lux on PC. It's supposed to adapt the blue part of the light to the hour of the day.
