Aberdeen, Washington

Aberdeen /ˈæbərdiːn/ is a city in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States, founded by Samuel Benn in 1884. Aberdeen was incorporated on May 12, 1890. The city is the economic center of Grays Harbor County, bordering the cities of Hoquiam and Cosmopolis. Aberdeen is called the "Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula" and is best known for being the birthplace and hometown of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Bryan Danielson. Some Nirvana lyrics, in songs such as "Something in the Way" and parts of the Bleach album, referred to locations within the town. The population was 16,896 at the 2010 census.

Nanakuli
is a small town and valley on Oahu's west shore, about 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Honolulu. It is the first town as you drive up Oahu's leeward coast. Nanakuli has a nice beach, known as Nanakuli Beach Park. The waves and currents are strong in the winter months, but in the summer it's usually calm and a favorite gathering spot among local residents, who barbecue and picnic here. Most of Nanakuli's residents live in the valley across from Farrington Highway, the town's main main road.

Independence, Missouri, US

Independence is known as the "Queen City of the Trails" because it was a point of departure for the California, Oregon and Santa Fe Trails. Independence was also the hometown of U.S. President Harry S. Truman; the Truman Presidential Library and Museum is located in the city, and Truman and First Lady Bess Truman are buried here.

Elk Grove (California)

Elk Grove was founded in 1850 as a stage stop for travelers coming from Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area, when the Elk Grove Hotel and Stage Stop was opened by James Hall and the town was subsequently named after it. In 1868 the Western Division of the Central Pacific Railroad came through about a mile east of Elk Grove. At this new location another hotel was built to accommodate travelers and was also named the Elk Grove Hotel.

Espoo, Finland

Espoo is the second largest city and municipality in Finland.

The Metal band Children of Bodom comes from Espoo, Finland. They are named after the unsolved murder known as the Lake Bodom murders which took place at Lake Bodom, a lake in northern Espoo, in 1960. The bands Norther and Kiuas also come from Espoo.

Overland Park, Kansas, US

Overland Park is the second most populous city in the State of Kansas.

The city is home to Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, a 300 acres (120 ha) arboretum and botanical garden. The Oak Park Mall is one of the area's top shopping locations with Nordstrom stores, two Dillard's stores, a Macy's, a JCPenney, and nearly 200 other stores. Continuing development in the Corbin Park area has added the area's first Scheels All Sports, Von Maur Department Store, Sprouts Farmers Market, JC Penney, as well as several restaurants and other shopping venues.

Saint Petersburg, Russia

It was named Saint Petersburg in 1703. In 1914 the name of the city was changed from Saint Petersburg to Petrograd, in 1924 to Leningrad, and in 1991, back to Saint Petersburg.

Grand Coulee is a city in Grant County, Washington, United States. The population was 988 at the 2010 census.

Grand Coulee was officially incorporated on November 6, 1935. It is located above the Grand Coulee Dam and next to North Dam.

Ennis, Ireland

Ennis (/ˈɛ.nɪs/; Irish: Inis, meaning "island") is the county town of Clare, Ireland. The Irish name is short for Inis Cluain Ramh Fhada ("island of the long rowing meadow"). The town is on the River Fergus, north of where it enters the Shannon Estuary, and is 19 km (12 mi) from Shannon Airport. In 2011, Ennis had a population of 25,360, making it the largest town in Clare and the 11th largest in Ireland.

Smiljan (pronounced [smî̞ʎan]) is a village in the mountainous region of Western Lika in Croatia. It is located 6 km (3.7 mi) northwest of Gospić, and fifteen kilometers from the Zagreb-Split highway; its population is 418 (2011). Smiljan is famous for being the birthplace of Nikola Tesla.
