I really hope that's fixed. I was downloading ebooks last night (this morning?) and around 1:30 AM it started. When I tried to download an audibook instead, it also hung up. So I assumed (bad idea, I know) that there were doing some kind of maintenance in the wee hours. I was really hoping to finish my downloads tonight when I get home from work.

I'm now seeing loan and hold limit information on all my Overdrive libraries.

That was the #1 PITA about the new version.

One thing I really don't like is that if you choose Kindle instead of ePub it doesn't give you a chance to correct your selection. As soon as you choose Kindle that is the only option (other than read online) that you have, there is no "are you sure" prompt in the new version like there was in the old version. I could see that being a huge problem for books with a long wait list and people who read on a Kobo or other ePub device.

For me if I select ePub it gives me a prompt about needing Adobe Digital Editions or (something else) and lets me cancel the selection so it doesn't appear to be a problem from that perspective.

Fortunately I have a Kindle and always prefer that option anyway so this hasn't caused me problems.

I chose epub, and I don't get any type of warning. The next time I do a checkout, I'll see if I can switch from epub to kindle.

I am having a problem with my Overdrive app on three different Android devices. It's the same problem, with 3 different versions of Android, but the same version of Overdrive. When I go to log into any of my libraries, as soon as I tap in one of the login fields, I get a pop-up window asking me which app I want to use as the default app (kind of like you get when you're opening a file. For instance, opening a JPG gets it to ask if you want to open the picture in Gallery or any number of other photo viewing apps you have on your device.)

I reported this to Overdrive, and they essentially blamed it on a setting in Android. I don't see how that could be for three distinct versions of Android.

Is anyone else having this same problem?

Interesting. I wonder if it only gives you a message the first time you actually check one out?

I am just using the web interface, not an app, for this.

Yes, I see the holds and loan information as well. I agree that it was a pain. Makes it rather hard to manage things without knowing the limits.

As for the ePub message.You get that the first time you select ePub. They are just making sure you are properly setup to handle ePub. If you clikc that you are all set, then the message no longer shows up.

I don't get a choice. It just says "transfer to ereader" Luckily, I like epubs better-they work on all my devices, with a little help from Alf.

This is the first time I've seen a "limit" set on wish list items. I imagine it was always there, but not posted.

Starting last night, I could no longer use the search function. Has this happened to anyone else? It occurs at both Brooklyn Public Library and Philadelphia Free Library. Of course, Overdrive help is no help. I received a canned answer to clear my history and cookies. Been there, done that, no change.

You need to say that it's the advanced search that wasn't working. FLP's advanced search is working. Brooklyn's is not.
