Out late at a concert last night and 8am pest control appointment this morning. As such, black coffee. But we have three fewer active wasp nests now!

(And the concert - First Aid Kit - was amazing. Swedish band that has produced some incredible Americana.)

We had the WORST vet trip in our 13 years of cat ownership today. Willow just freaked out from the minute we put her in the carrier. It took an hour once we got home to calm her down. Now she is happily chowing on her new food and I have a lot of good beer from NoDa and I am planning to get comfortably drunk.

I have become a convert to Feliway calming sprays/collars/diffusers. Our Stella had gradually become a complete 'scaredy cat' up to the point of overheating, panting, and all out screaming panic attacks when we took her to the vet. We now have room diffusers in 3 rooms, sprays for the carrier and carpets, and wipes to put on Stella herself. It has made a HUGE difference for her .... and us ... I can't recommend Feliway strongly enough.

Second tea of the day.

No wasps this year for us, but it has been a very big year for ants! (I am a huge fan of Terro brand, borax-based ant killer! The stuff works great, and I'm a little more comfortable with it than other ant baits.)

EKOCups, Mexican blend. Great non traditional Mexican coffee in recyclable K-Cup pods. My 'GoTo' coffee for a good start of the day.
