I've been on an unsubscribe binge lately. With every newsletter email I ask myself if I read the newsletters at all, if they offer anything useful (e.g. discount codes) and how often I get them (some companies send out newsletter almost daily). Most companies hide their unsubscribe button after the "click here for the full message" notification. Most put the link in a teeny tiny font. And some make it unclear whether you are unsubscribing or actually resubscribing (as I suspect are your examples). I think I have two or three I now have unsubscribes multiple times from and keep sending emails. I'm going to keep a list and see if that is true. If it is I'm going to email them to ask them to not only get me off their mailing list but also delete my entire account since I don't want to business with a company like that. Yes, I know I can have those emails go to the spam folder, but they'll keep doing it if they don't get complaints/know they lose customers. |

This makes twice I didn’t get to have the swim I planned. And between “summer is short” (New Hampshire) and this is the first normalish summer in three years, I’m livid. I can only hope the camp groups make it clear that there will be serious repercussions if there’s a repeat and the little s**t is caught. |

Yes, that will do it. But ApK is right -- the choices were deliberately framed in the negative so that it's easy to make the wrong choice if you're not reading carefully.

When you send individual texts out to family let them know your son will be in the States for the first time in 3 years, so you're having a cookout in mid August, and only one person responds.
Only one of these people, my sister, has an excuse for not being responsive, as her husband is dealing with 4th stage esophageal cancer and has been struggling since a procedure 2 weeks ago. Most annoyed with my younger brother, who is 58, who is camping this weekend, and has been on Facebook, but he can't respond to a text. But he can post all kind of redneck nonsense on Facebook. The drinking posts should start anytime. |

It looks like my Dyson Hot + Cool (fan + heater) is dying after almost 10 years. For the last year it started making more and more noise when I set it to oscillating. And now it doesn't want to move the full 70°. When I shake it I hear something rattling, so something broke off.
They now have a Hot + Cool that also purifies air, which might be helpful with my hay fever. Especially when I move to my sister's place; there's something (I think a tree) that I react to. Of course it isn't in stock right now (I will need to save up for it anyways). Hopefully my old Hot + Cool will last until the new one is in stock again. Especially since it's summer and in the next week there's going to be a couple of hot days. |

Drat! I'd bought a new pair of sunglasses from Amazon last month (polarized, wrap around) and was taking care of them.
Went to try to add an eye patch to the right lens today (kind of a little sock that covers the lens and fastens to the arm) and noticed the left lens missing ![]() I think I know where I lost it. Was out doing groceries on Sunday; while in the store had the glasses in my shirt pocket and had bent over to look at something. The glasses fell to the floor. I picked them up and I'm willing to bet the lens had gone AWOL at that point. I thought something was wrong as driving home my left eye was squinting alot. It wouldn't have been too bad if it was the right lens that had popped out seeing (or not seeing) that it's still not functioning properly. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk |

Not for nothin', but if you wore them home and didn't realize the left lens was missing, I'm not sure your left eye is functioning quite up to factory specs either..... ![]() Anythehoo, there's a good chance Amazon would replace them for you if you ask. Lenses shouldn't fall out so easily, right? Last edited by ApK; 07-11-2022 at 05:22 PM. |

"People of diverse abilities" used as an euphemism for disability...isn't that basically everyone?
Also, why are people so afraid of the word "disabled"? |

We've always had that when the store's closed you occasionally get customers, who know we live over the store, ring the doorbell and assume you are willing to help them. If it's an emergency it's not a problem, but most of the time it's not. The most annoying ones ask, after you unlock and open the door, if the store's closed. Considering the door's locked, the lights are off and the three signs (two on the window and one on the door) list the opening times it's hard not to get sarcastic. Often when you tell them we're closed they then continue to whine about the fact that I'm here now so I might just as well help them. Nope.
In the past half year I get more and more people asking me when I enter or exit the building if the store's opening. It doesn't matter if it's 8am and I'm taking the trash out or if it's, like last Monday, 10pm and I get home on my bike or when I open the door for the delivery of a package. Add to that that you often see them looking at the opening times sign when I walk up or walk down the stairs. And again if you tell them we're closed they start whining and telling me I'm rude for not helping them. Again, if it's an emergency it's no problem but I've yet have one of those. It's become such a regular occurrence, multiple times a week now, that I'm not looking forward when I have to go out when the shop's closed. I'm now always mentally prepared to have to get into the discussion that yes I'm here but no I won't help you. |

It's going to be too hot today. They are predicting 37C in my area, but that means that in the city center it'll be well over 40C. Tomorrow it's going to be 28C (hot but doable) and on Thursday it's going to be 21C, which I'm really looking forward to.
We've decided to keep the store closed today. But I still need to do a couple of things this morning; go to the supermarket for some fresh (frozen) fruit, finishing the supermarket order that's going to be delivered on Thursday. And around 10am a supplier is going to drop off an order and we'll have a chat. After that I'm going to take a shower and then I'll probably read most of the day. Tonight is going to be difficult; at midnight the temperature is still going to be around 30C, so I'll have to stay up late to open the windows once it's cooler outside than inside. |

My vision is poor. Some things are harder for me to do such as finding specific locations in very large places (like the right platform in a massive train station), and there are some things I can't do/aren't allowed to do, such as drive a car. But I'm certainly not disabled. I've always refused to describe myself as disabled. If I had been blind, I probably would have, because then there's a MASSIVE amount of things I wouldn't be able to do without some form of assistance. |
