I had never heard of it. Wikipedia says it was released in 2020 and she received a Golden Globe for it in 2021. So isn't your disappointment a year late?

Indeed it is

- but I'm still disappointed! Working from home while self-isolating leads one to completely lose any temporal references. Every time I write a check I have to check the calendar for the year.

Ask the puddies. They always know what date and time it is: play time, nap time or dinner time. Oh and a fourth time: "you didn't do what you should have, by now, time." Very clear internal clocks, in my experience.

Totally agree - Stella has never allowed me to miss a meal - her meal of course

But DST changes completely devastate her.

You mean, if she had opposable thumbs. My two feel that our existence is solely to serve them, wholly and completely; provide scritches, treats, food, water, (cat-box cleaning!) and of course, function as futons and other warm furniture.

I have one, my female, that is convinced that my time of sleeping is irrelevant to the fact that she wants her (hot, mind you) dinner delivered at a given time each night--about an hour after I hit the sack. (sigh).

ETA: to be clear, we also free-feed. They never do not have food. But that, versus hot A/D, well...that's a whole other thing.

Un-freaking-believable.

I have this woman, referred to me by another customer, who thinks she's writing children's books. She's not, mind you--she's writing a set of instructions for parents to communicate with kids, using the written materials as a method to get through to them, but whatever.

I ask her to send me the file in quesiton--right?

And what shows up? Some DOCX file with, wait for it--the ENTIRE TEXT OF THE GODDAMNED BOOK AS THE FILENAME. What? What universe is it, that someone can't even manage a simple filenaming?

I tell her what she's done and wait for it, first, she forwards me two emails that we've already exchanged and OMG, sends me the same S**T again!

Of course, by now, I've intuited that she's using GDocs--don't get me started with my name for that "last refuge of the XXXXXX," because I'll manage to offend someone--but at what point in ignorance is it okay to waste someone else's time, when you can't do something as basic as transmit a goddamn file?

AGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH!!

Yeah, I would've figured there was some limit to the length of a file name. I can't imagine how someone managed to do this.

I suspect from this statement and your supporting evidence, that she's using a ChromeBook. She probably doesn't know how to properly export a different file format. And that's a difficult concept to teach remotely.

i ground my teeth down to nubs and explained how to export (download as...) from GDocs. Unfreakingbelievable, really.

THEN she sent it to me, pasted it into an email. What is wrong with people? They want to be some big-time author, but they can't even learn how to format and transmit a manuscript?

I'm enjoying my Reading Retreat week.

My cottage is semi detached and next door is also booked. The couple staying there is a bit weird. Every evening at some point it sounds like they are moving furniture around, specifically the dinning room chairs. Which is weird since both living rooms are situated on opposite ends of the semi detached.

Also when they go out on foot they walk right past my window. I can understand that they don't follow the path; it's the long way around and it's muddy atm, so walking past my dining/living room windows is logic. But there's enough space to keep a bit of a distance. She also always peers inside. I'm tempted to wave at her the next time she does this, with one finger.

Second rant:
My right SI joint is healing nicely and I started reducing my otc pain meds. But since Monday my left SI joint is starting to act up. Not as painful, yet, as the left at one point. And I hope it won't come to that, though I'm afraid it will. I'm just really fed up with all the body BS. Every time I think I'm on the way to healing and resuming my life something else starts acting up.
