We love this sister like crazy. She has been thru so so much, multiple back surgeries, she did the lion's share of caring for their mom, managing her bills & insurances for many years, and taking her in (out of the nursing home) when we knew the end was near. She would do anything for you, but has some pretty big blind spots, and can be totally lacking in common sense at times.

She has also been sick off and on since before thanksgiving, tested positive herself at the beginning of January. She is a long time smoker, has stopped several times, and starts up again. So she also has COPD and related issues. Ah family. Gotta love them.

In that case, next time, tell her to leave the food on the porch (to avoid cross-contamination in both directions) and then just throw it the hell out. I'm with you, though, my initial and (out loud) reaction would have been "hells no!" :-)

Just had someone asking if I could hand deliver some books that I have on sale online, replied that yes I can deliver in the city center as she named the city, the reply came and she can’t because she doesn’t live in the city and has no transportation. So why the hell are you making me loose time answering if you aren’t even here. I hate people that don’t read the add and ask stupid questions, such a waste of time, is it so hard to read the information?

I once had an eBay buyer ask me to drive 20 minutes to her town, to save her the $7 shipping. I told her I would meet her in my area, but she didn't want to spend 40 minutes for the round trip. But she expected me to do that. The back and forth emails were astonishing. She called me unreasonable.

That was almost as frustrating as the buyer would wouldn't send me her address. She paid with a money order, and had no return address on the envelope. It took 6-7 emails before she seemed to finally grasp that I couldn't ship her item if I didn't know where to send it. This was early eBay, long before PayPal.

I’ve had some of those trough the years, I always tell them I’m happy to ship the item wherever they want but if they want it hand delivered they have to come pick it up at the location of my choosing, many times I Iose patience and just delete the message and don’t reply, it’s either that or send them to a place where they don’t want to go.

I like to do business with straightforward no nonsense people, the ones that state what they want, how they want to receive the item and how their going to pay, hate to deal with people that send a message asking something, followed by another about the shipping, another about the payment, and so on, is it so hard to send one message with all the questions? And if you don’t reply right away they send you a message with ????, a sure sign we are not going to do business.

I have to applaud people that work in retail and service industries and have to deal with this kind of people, I can just ignore them but they have to be saints to deal with people regularly.

I got my booster. Thankfully the side effects aren't as bad as my second dose. But I still feel like I've been hit by a large vehicle, lol.

When I got the booster (Moderna) the fatigue and mild body aches were similar to my 2nd dose, plus with the booster I had "Covid arm".

I got COVID arm too, though Pfizer (a bit strange -- I thought it was mostly Moderna?). The tube of hydrocortisone I had was well past expiry date and didn't do anything but a baking soda paste helped a bit.

An NFT of a what, now?

There are days....

I have a customer of a customer (in other words, the ultimate customer is an author--surprise!--but the immediate customer of mine is a print layout house/design firm) who wants to release his or her eBook....

As an NFT.

For those of you that haven't yet encountered the world and universe of NFTs, NFT="non fungible token." Now, honestly, those may be the three stoopidest words ever spoken; for example, whats-is-face's first Tweet was "sold" as an NFT for something like $15K or the like. How anybody sees that as a collectible, or even remotely can prove provenance, damned if I know, but, whatevs. Fools and their money, amirite?

But...an eBook? And this person is not alone; other people are apparently selling NFTs, in a (not-yet-obvious to me yet) "eBook" format, that enables them purportedly to resell it (the NFT, once, I mean).

I'm trying to figure out how they can figure out how it's collectible; how it's going to be "non-fungible" (gimme a freaking BREAK, wouldja?) and all that. I mean, I'm all for it. You want me to tweak your book, say it's an NFT and all that? For money? Fine, I'm down. But still....feels vaguely like the Great Dutch Tulip Bubble, to me.

Shakes head.

NFTs are a bane.

You're buying a receipt. And the process of printing out that receipt takes up more energy than entire nations.
