A few week ago I bought a new Nissan Rouge, and was surprised to find that the Nissan Connect Service has and Alexa app (skill) for that. This morning I said:

"Alexa, ask NissanConectedServices to start my Rouge"
She said (paraphrase) "What's the PIN?"
I said "xxxx"
She said "Remote Engine Start, Success"
My phone said "Remote Engine Start, Success"
And my car was nice and toasty when I got in.

I wish Amazon would expand Alexa Routines so you could type in commands. I can say commands like "watch TV" (which turns on the TV and stereo) and "watch HGTV", but I can't have a routine that does both.

If they had it, a lot of commands could be shortened, instead of having to say the "ask nissanconnectedservices ..." verbiage, just create a routine with your own phrase, like "start the car".

Amazon cannot get that right even with the Fire TV. When I ask to see a movies or show, I almost always get taken to a page full of crap that they want to sell or rent to me. Frustrating!

I'm not talking about variable action phrases, I'm talking about fixed action phrases. If you typed in the phrase, Alexa should either get it right/wrong 100% of the time.

So what would be the harm of Amazon implementing it? It wouldn't work for you and you wouldn't expect it to since it doesn't currently work, and it would work for me. Win, win.

For example, I have a routine with a trigger phrase "Good morning", and I would say that it works 99% of the time. I have a couple of these routines, and once I find a good trigger phrase, they are pretty reliable.
