Same here. It's the only thing I've bought from kobo in the last six months, and if I'm honest, I'm probably not going to read it that soon.

Due to the likelihood that Harper-Collins will withdraw from Amazon (see news item in News forum), at least for awhile, I've made purchases I put off. Will finish that this weekend since I believe the contract ends mid-month. I'm still sticking to wishlist items. At least I'm using gift card money. A month from now, they will probably have a signed contract, but I noticed while going through my wishlist items, some items that are unrelated have actually been withdrawn from the ebook market including an Andre Norton title I was supposed to get! Dang it! I've yet to see a withdrawn title come back again. I know I have 4-5 years of reading to do, but some of these withdrawn titles are part of a series and I hate to skip books.

Edited to add: Ok, I take that back. The Midsomer Murders series by Carolyn Graham in ebook came back to the US market after a 4 year absence. I noticed it back at Amazon about a month ago. That was after I gave up last Fall and bought it full-price via Kobo visiting the UK. Ah well, Mom read it, so she was happy.

I've actually exhausted my HC wishlist, except for future books. Being able to get 'em through Viggle helps a lot, especially since HC's been shifting over to EPUB 3 over the past few months. (I don't have to fret about whether I'll be able to download the book correctly at Kobo.)

The only complaint I'll have if HC and Amazon part ways is that I'll lose the ability to track/discover HC books through Amazon pages. That's a hit, but not a fatal one.

I was doing OK on not buying books until I realized that I'd somehow missed the release of the last Bruno, Chief of Police book. I only noticed because Amazon suggested I might want to pre-order an even newer one, due out shortly. I can resist anything except temptation. And I love the Bruno books, so I succumbed. And paid Amazon prices, since I hadn't done anything to avail myself of this latest round of codes. Just seemed like a lot of work for mostly 30% codes.

If it's any consolation, Martin Walker's Bruno, Chief of Police books are out from non-couponable publishers in both Canada & US, so you wouldn't have saved any money anyway unless you were planning on "travelling", in which case the Kobo contest codes wouldn't work.

Ah, that does help a little. And it is a favourite series. But I felt a bit guilty since I had just bought Cannery Row for the book club this month.

Book Club stuff doesn't count (or only counts at a fractional rate proportional to the number of participating book club members), since you're not really picking it out for yourself, IMHO (unless you were the one who initially nominated it). Maybe try to think of it as being in the same category as work-related or obligatory-social purchases like holiday cards for relatives you only occasionally meet?

As for me, I just lucked out on discovering a stash of stuff it turns out I kind of really want because they're ridiculously Relevant To My Interests™ from the University of Minnesota Press, which happens to be nicely couponable with the handful of mid-high-value contest codes I got this time around, so I'm going to spend the next few hours on triage and shopping.

The US dollar is very strong at the moment so Americans save money when/if they travel. I've saved 25-30% off the top (exchange rate) plus add even a modest 30% discount and the savings are appreciable.

Kobo now has a 90% promo going and that's too good to pass up.

I bought the one due to be released from Amazon UK on May 31, 2014. It was titled Children of War. For what ever strange reason the US publisher has decided to rename the boo, The Children Return. The next release is a little closer together. The UK book will be released July 2, 2015 as The Dying season. The US book, titled The Patriarch, will be released August 11, 2015.

I'm not complaining. It only worked on 1 book. But at least I was able to get a $13 book that was on my wishlist for just over $1 using a code that a nice member here gave me. I would have bought a TON MORE, but it appears that either they weren't eligible or it only let me buy one book (none of the others in the shopping cart would take the code..sniff). Anyway, Got that out of my system.

I will do a final check for audiobook whisper sync matches tomorrow, but all of them have been under $5 - most $1.99-2.99.

There's quite a tempting book in the Amazon Spring Sale (UK) that I've been agonising over. It's definitely a bargain, and it seems like a great book, but I'm just not sure when I'll read it. The sale runs until the 21st...

Try to determine if it has been on sale in the past. If so, just add it to your wish list.

There's a new 90% code that works even if you used one before. PM me if you'd like one.

Yes, someone kindly sent me a FRND code, and it worked for me, even though I'd already used a FRIEND code.
