On the other hand, Apple computers haven't exactly flown off the shelves relative to DOS/Windows PCs since 1980.

Guess it all depends on which statistics you want to quote.

But yer right as far as "gadgets" are concerned, Apple wins. But Sony is no Apple, and their ereaders don't offer more razzle-dazzle than every other ereader on the market -- just different features to do the same task -- reading books.

And it may be true that the quality is no different, but I was giving them the benefit of the doubt while still saying I can't imagine the current pricing is going to fly very far.

I asked Sony Electronics. They are following me on Twitter (or should I say they are following the Sony Reader Forum); so I brought it to their attention that a lot of us were wondering if and when they would fix the DRM PDF & DRM ePub issue and they said they are working on it (That was in July).
