You can also disable the header/footer in kepubs so you actually get the full screen. There are a few patches you'd want to enable to prevent glitches but I find it well worth it on my H2O since a primary draw for me was the screen size.

I used to use full screen but found issues with cut off letters at the end of rows so I no longer use full screen. I'm quite happy with headers and footers in kepubs.

There's a patch to fix that too, but if you don't mind the headers then more power to you. I'd held off on going to kepub until recently because of the forced header, and the issues with cut off letters. But now I'm fully kepub.

I don't..I had to much greasy fingers on it and many times by accident while holding I reach to much and the device started to change the pages, with the "normal" bezel you feel the difference between the place to hold, and the place to touch for a new page, with the Aura you don't.. especially by reading in bed, when you turn on the other side, you change it from right to left hand or vice versa,to discover that your fingers moved to much over the non existing edge and the device was going backwards or forwards to much because you grip/hold it to far which the device flipping the pages.
I want to feel where I can hold it. |

Valid point
For me, it's more for the look than something else but you are right. |

Also, I'm not really into patching/hacking my devices. I prefer being able to use my ereaders out-of-the-box without having to tinker with firmware to get what I want. (Also, I only skimmed the beginning of the developer threads, but am I reading correctly that the Kobo Patcher is Windows-only, or is a Mac version now available as well? If Windows-only, then this is even more of a deal-breaker ![]() |

For your (dis)pleasure, a comparison full of misinformation is here. Interestingly, they claim the Kobo Glo HD has a capacitative touch screen. Considering the source, I don't know if that's true, or not.

The Kobo Patcher runs on Windows/Mac/Linux these days. See here for details of the latest version. Detailed help always available in the relevant thread. ... not that I'm trying to tempt you, of course. Perish the thought ![]() Last edited by jackie_w; 04-12-2015 at 06:10 PM. |

I am worried about the gloss band inside the bezel. It is reflecting a fair amount of the light from the camera or whichever light source is in this video, so if you're using the unit outside, I could imagine you could easily have sunlight reflected into your eyes according to which angle you hold the unit.
