This is not a bug. It never worked in any version of ADE.

Ok. It's not a bug... It's something that should work but it does not.

Attach the tag you prefer.

(Not-having-ever-worked does not change the fact in any way...)

But what it does mean is that not having small-caps is not a Kobo issue. It's an ADE wide issue.

I suppose that the following note went unnoticed by you:

And this comment was posted because about several issues, (the buggy w&o IIRC but I'm not sure at all), some people have posted that they are solved/not present in newer/different flavours of Adobe RMSDK found in other devices...

(Or was it the final page of chapter bug I forgot to post in my list?)

Unfortunately that is showing it that some errors exist in the database on the Kobo. The standard approach to fixing that is to logout on the Kobo and then redo the setup. Some day it would be great if we had a tool that would recover as much data as possible from a corrupted database and even build a new one.

thaks Peter - it is just that I hate having to rebuild the database, as this means losing all the annotations on non-kobo purchased books, and that is thoroughly annoying. This is way I stopped using calibre to transfer books (though I noticed davidfor's suggestion on the driver).

I understand; any chance you could maybe eMail me a copy of the database (found in .kobo\KoboReader.sqlite); I'd like to look and see what is corrupted and what might be possible in fixing it. I'll PM you my eMail

Entering brainstorming mode:

Before drastic measures you could try using a SQLite database editor/manager in order to "fix" the errors if possible.

I'm no expert at all but I used SQLite Manager (a Firefox extension) once in order to rebuild some database indexes that were damaged I don't know how. If you are decided to reset your device it could be a last wild attempt...

Edited...

Of course if a wise guy looks at it for you, your recovery chances will be seriously increased

It have never yet worked for me, but in theory, if non vital parts are wrong, then you can try to use sqlite3 to open the database, and save what it can. Under windows I made the following very simple .bat:
echo .dump | sqlite3 KoboReader.sqlite > KoboReader.dump
move KoboReader.sqlite KoboReader.bak.sqlite
echo .quit | sqlite3 -init KoboReader.dump KoboReader.sqlite

(Before using it the .bat file and the KoboReader.sqlite should be in the same folder.)

In theory, this should work, in practice never worked for me (library lost, tiles from the main screen lost.)

There is a more developed version at http://timlegge.blogspot.hu/2011/03/...-database.html. I just found it as I searched for the linux script I found earlier. This solution seems better.

(BTW after loading books from calibre there was no problem, but after doing several EPUB highlights and comments, I had many database errors.)

PeterT: is there a "what should be where, and how should look" guide on the net about the structure of the Kobo database? As I wouldn't able to follow what should be done during the corruption. (Once only index part was wrong, so a reindex helped, but usually it is not the case.)

There have been some writeups for the original Kobo devices but I don't believe there are any for the more modern devices.

For instance: http://kobodb-schema.sourceforge.net/index.html
