Yeah but this one is crazy. It was first two hours battery was moving along correctly then all of sudden it began to yo-yo. I kept getting warnings then it would jump back up to 35% then I played Angry birds for 30 minutes it went down to 3% and when I put it on the charger it moved 1% every 3 seconds and then said it was fully charged. So I did a factory reset and it was at 29%, 4 second later 35% and kept moving up. It's not calibration issue there is something really wacky going on.

I think there is a Kindle Fire with my name on it if I can use Mantano and Dropbox on it. Everything else no longer matters. Of course I have to wait for a refund now. *sigh* They don't do exchanges on these types of purchases.

Hubby is going to not like me when I tell him he has to go walmart at 3AM to purchase a printer to print out the sheet they sent me. I think I need a nap now.

Oh and I found another dead pixel. *sigh*
I think it would be best. The Pixel and the battery issues may be related. Moisture could have seeped into the unit at the factory or on route to your door. Dead pixels & defective battery = unacceptable.

It's possible. The packaged air was deflated so it could of been damaged in the process. I would have not bought it if I knew I couldn't get a replacement. Now I have to wait for a refund. It did play Angry Birds Seasons beautifully. I'm starting to think I don't want a tablet with 2.3 and the Vox has some of the issues of the Coby. I may go with a 2.2 tablet (same version as my phone) or the Kindle Fire if sideloading is allowed. Let's hope the KF has none of quirks that 2.3 seems to be having.

I talked to hubby and we both decided that I am going with the Kindle Fire. I just don't want to deal again with getting a defective unit. I know with Kindle support if something happens I am covered and it's painless. I just hope I can sideload content but if not I will just use the standard app. So I now have to wait till I get my refund and for the Fire to be released so I can order it.

blossum i dont blame you ... the kindle fire and kindle devices may not allways have the best hardware spec's but alot of people forget one of kindles appeals over the years is that they just work... and if they dont kindle does a good job of getting you one that does work into your hands.

The main feature i want to learn about the kindle fire is if there is a way to play video purchased on the kindle fire on my tv (like i can on my itunes/idevices) because in my rural area my dsl isnt fast enough to stream video content directly and i need to download them like on itunes. If it does this it will break me away from my itunes wich is annoying because i love my android phone .

If Amazon had the Coby 7022 in stock when I bought it instead of a fulfilled by Amazon Merchant I could of exchanged the tablet but seeing most tablets they sell aren't directly through them it's just safer to go with a Fire and hope for the best. When my K4 screen was defective I had a new K4 the next day and they paid to ship the old one back. You can't beat that.

They are picking this one up via UPS but I still have to wait my refund to be processed. It's okay though as the Fire isn't released yet.

I don't think the Fire will do this (unless somehow by rooting) but I'd watch for it to be a real possibility in the Fire's big brother which is coming early next year.....rumors....rumors...rumors...

That's terrible, Blossom! The nice thing is, Amazon is pretty quick about refunds once the item arrives at their return center. Of course, you're running into the weekend, so it'll take UPS slightly longer to get it back. How disappointing for you!

Is the reduced NC or upcoming one a possibility? I want to know if the Nook Tablet will let you sideload apps. Then I might consider it, but I don't like B&N's user interface from when I spent a day playing with an NC. Funnily enough, when I was looking at the NT leaks last night, the fiance freaked out a little. "I don't like the Nook!" (We just played with it and the Flyer in Best Buy) "Don't get it!" - "It's $50 cheaper than the Flyer and has almost as good specs, though I'm not thrilled with B&N's UI or needing to root it. Plus, I'd get it more than a month before the Flyer." - "Well, I still don't like it!"

He forgets - it's mine, not his. I'll be curious to see what comes out of the Nov. 7 press conference. If I could sideload apps, I think then I'd go for the Nook Tablet, and consider rooting in the future, once those kinks are worked out. Rooting makes me nervous, so I prefer to get most functionality without needing to do it. Come on, B&N, open up some!

I just updated my last post in this thread to add information regarding upcoming price drops for the Nook Color ($199) and Nook Simple Touch ($99). The Nook Color will have new features. There are also comparison charts there for Kindle Fire ($199) vs. the new (soon-to-be released) Nook Tablet ($249).

If anyone noticed the Nook has significantly battery capacity - they seemed to have made a design choice to make it lighter with a smaller battery.

That's a good thing for those interested in the NOOKcolor 2. The current one is noticeably heavy now. This wasn't the case when it first came out because there was nothing to compare it to. Maybe they'll be in the hands of more children with the reduced weight.

I don't mind the wait. The Kindle Fire isn't out yet. They picked up the Coby today around 3PM so it's on it's way to Kentucky which is just a state above me as I live in North East Tennessee. I've got a tracking number to keep an eye on when it gets there.

If you want the HTC Flyer go for it. $50 isn't all that much more. That's around the amount I have to add to get the Kindle Fire. You want something you are going to be happy with not settled for. It doesn't hurt to splurge once in awhile. If you are use to an open tablet getting a closed one might not be best.

I don't think anything is wrong with the NC or the new NT I've only heard good things about them. Personally after having a Coby in my hand I wouldn't get a Coby tablet unless it was alot cheaper. The Nook Color is heavy though which is why I don't see me getting one even with the price reduced.
