Bluetooth GPS connectivity

Option to connect bluetooth GPS devices would not do any harm.

Developers, please add this feature in final release of Ermine

Was not able to sync doing that... Gmail connects no problem though through Froyo, K9 or MailDroid...

As everybody my pics come out green

Edit: 'til now, no post-standby freezing happened

My pics came out green in Dingo, as well (just the still photos; videos were ok). This actually isn't so bad if you're a gecko, but most people aren't.

What do you mean by not laggy? When I write in the journal it seems to be 250-450ms between writing. And the ink showing up.

My EE freezes after resuming from hibernation and I can't do anything, so often I must extract battery, then reinsert. I hope that this can be fix as soon as possible!

What it doesn't say is that after you press the menu button, you can then proceed to press all the other buttons, both short and long presses, including the power button, and then dance around the machine 3 times burning a magic candle, and you can sacrifice a chicken if you like - all these have the same effect, which is nothing. The thing won't wake up, and I can't power it down (without yanking the battery).
I had the same problem once so far. Just updated to brand new Pocket dual last night. There's a reset button right next to the USB port. If you stick a paper clip in there it reboots jus fine, and it's easier than pulling the battery ;-)

I'm a little late to the game, but may I say "Wow!" I liked Dingo just fine, but Ermine is great! So many new features I wasn't expecting, didn't even know I wanted, but am glad to have. It seems to me that understanding and managing my little machine will be much easier now.

So far my only problem was my Smart Shortcuts all came through the upgrade with the name "Smart Shortcut" instead of what I had named them. It was easy to fix once I discovered that I could add them to my desktop again, with the correct name, from the shortcut/widget gizmo.

Glad I finally upgraded!

An improvement. Definitely still a beta, but an improvement.
Plusses:
- painless upgrade once I'd signed up (and the signup prompt was more obvious than I expected in Store -> My Account)
- Amazon App Store. Thank you. (note: you need to go to the Amazon app store website to get this)
- More icons on the desktop
- Maybe a little peppier, wouldn't swear to it
- Dev tools

Minuses
- still no native screen password-lock (but the security apps from the store work nicely)
- hibernate issue (pop the battery on an EE to reset; if you use ES Security Manager you may need to relaunch it afterward)
- at least one video codec now plays greyscale
- the context-sensitive "enter" key on the onscreen keyboard ("go", "search", "next", etc.) routinely doesn't work, and I end up with 'l' instead. Not a touch calibration issue, as that region of screen works fine otherwise. odd.
- one instance of app instability; wouldn't surprise me if there's more, but its not killing the system either.

Overall, from an Android usability/progress/compatibility standpoint, I'm glad to be on a Froyo platform. As a generic user, the biggest improvement is the app store, which is worthwhile on its own, but having seen the install process, I'm not 100% convinced it would not have worked on Dingo. My current assessment is that if you like grokking tech, go ahead and get Ermine, but it's not ~such~ a world of improvement that everyone should jump on the beta as if it's the current standard OS. If you want a device that just works, it might be best to stick with Dingo until Ermine goes gold.

Welcome to the club !!. I am also having the same issue. Interestingly not everyone upgraded is having the issue. Probably we are the 'chosen ones' ! . Because of this issue i reverted back to Dingo as it is very annoying and pulling out the battery frequently may harm the hardware (though not sure). hopefully Entourage people will make the 'chose ones' happy with their fix (which never seem to happen !). Hope u guys are reading. Thanks.

Nice review. I have been using Ermine with few problems on my EE and PE. But 2 important comments:

1. For those of us outside the USA, the Amazon store is (at least as far as I can tell) unavailable, and therefore of no value.
2. Based on the situation, as it is imagined anyway (given the lack of direct communications), I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Ermine to "go gold". In my opinion, what you have now will be as far as it goes.
