I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. It's less bitter than other UK teas and easy to drink, but it's also less flavorful than, say, PG Tips. That seems to be a general theme with UK and Irish grocery store teas; they're either bitter and lively or mellow and insipid. My favorite balance so far has been Barry's Gold.

Today, I'm drinking some Mighty Leaf Organic Breakfast. An interesting, spicy flavor, but way below the quality that I expected for the price.

I was seriously UN-impressed with it. And since it replaced the excellent Peet's English Breakfast Blend, I was more than a little unhappy. Right now, my preferred breakfast blend is Murchie's Balmoral. Not perfect, but reasonable. It's got a good dose of brightness (Ceylon?), some solid Indian below that, and isn't so bitter than milk is required, though it does have a solid tannic bite.

When I want mellow (afternoons, mostly), I go with a good grade of Keemun. The earthiness and wonderful nose are why it's my favourite tea.

Tonight I'm drinking the last of my La Frenz Estate Chardonnay from 2015. It's lovely stuff, lots of bright, crisp apple, with just a bit of mellow oak to take the edge off. An excellent food wine.
