Caribou Light Blend coffee... incidentally when I purchased this bag yesterday, Fresh Market had put out their display of Pumpkin Spice Coffee.

As we are still riding days out in the 90s on the regular here, I nearly laughed out loud.

Starting my new routine of waking up at 5:30 AM so I will be home in time to pick up Little Man from school in a few weeks. So Coffee in the AM and tea at work.

I am looking to saving money by not having to pay for before school or after school care but I am not looking forward to waking up at 5:30 AM every day

If it makes you feel any better - I get up at 3:50 AM every day. 7:00 AM on Saturday and Sundays.

I used to have to get up a 9PM to go to work at 11.

But then I got stuck on a day shift job that had me arriving at work at 5:30, so I was up at astrangerhere's kinds of hours. But these days, I let daylight wake me up, and daylight put me to sleep. Which makes for lots of sleep in the winter, less so in the summer. Especially since I'm above the 49th Parallel, obviously.

Done with coffee, switching to faux San Pellegrino.

Guinness Nitro with dinner ...

Spent the afternoon on the phone with technical help - network issues with new server - which since I couldn't get online - they couldn't get in to diagnose/fix problem -- so had to keep listening to instructions and then reading the screens/logs to them ...

When almost done, the screen froze - unresponsive to anything - after screaming inside my head, calmed down & proof read what I had typed - put an extra digit in the DNS name .... sigh ...

Oh, I have so been there. Got the t-shirt. Worn it out into a car wash rag.

astrangerhere: You are crazy. I am a night owl so this whole waking up early thing is not fun. I was not thrilled with 6:30 the last five years, moving it an hour earlier is even less exciting.

Saving thousands of dollars and spending time with the Little Man after school is well worth it but I am going to be grumpy for a bit.

When I lived in the city, and worked shifts, I found my most natural shift was afternoons (3-11 or 2-10), but I was quite comfortable working midnights/graveyard (10-6, 11-7). In fact, I worked midnights for >20 years. But once I was forced onto days by promotions, I eventually adapted. But it was NOT easy. (4AM starts _suck_, pure and simple.) Now that I'm in the country, and work from home, and control my hours? I'm up at daylight most days but don't actually start work until some more "normal" hour. Adjusting to the new schedule will be painful at first, but does happen over time. One recommendation -- do NOT change your getting up time on the weekends. Doing so only prolongs the adjustment period. (Trust me, I've been through this enough times!)

Today, it's a small glass of fresh squeezed orange juice (all I'm allowed) and a mug of Murchie's English Breakfast Blend tea.
