I settled on Jasmine Oolong.
Welcome Megan! Tea with cookies is no where near detailed enough. What type of tea? Bagged? Loose leaf? Tell us more. :-) |

Last tea of a busy day, and the last of my current canister of Pu Erh. I'll be opening a can of Chinese Oolong next.

Welcome, Megan. Now, see, I could just say I was having a Scotch, but instead, I'm having a Bruichladdich Port Charlotte single malt.

Peet's Major Dickasons's for now, but I have a mug of Peet's Irish Breakfast Blend tea for the road. Out and about, dealing with cars and car issues all day, so I'll need all the perk-up I can get.

I'm sometimes a masochist and enjoy trying really cheap versions of things I like, so I decided to try a box of "All Natural Tea" from the Dollar Tree.
tl;dr: It's easily as good as (and maybe better than) Lipton or Red Rose and super cheap. It's a box of 100 black tea bags for $1. Each bag has 1g of tea, so it takes two or three bags to make a normal strength cup. The box says it's "a blend of Ceylon and other origin teas" and the package is imported from Sri Lanka. The dry tea looks like CTC tea that is then crumbled up further. I used four bags to make a pint of tea (so two bags per cup) and steeped for four minutes. The tea came out a little weak, but the flavor was nice. It's not bitter, is mildly astringent and has a caramel maltiness. I'll have to try it with three bags per cup to see how it compares. It's not particularly complex or any sort of premium tea, but I've had worse "English breakfast" tea that cost a lot more. |
