The setting for reading progress isn't identical to the page index setting, I just used it as a starting point. So nothing broken there. |

Ok, so where do the functions and menu-points hide? A. Edit: Pulling back: I forgot that the option is to find on another place (Status bar --> Page Index --> Index Style in Books) ![]() Last edited by Analogus; 02-18-2012 at 10:39 AM. |

If you search the BM addon for markAllBooks, you'll find the function around line 681, the optiondef around line 1158, and the onSettingsChanged bit around line 1214. Take a look around and the structures should start to make sense. BM is quite a large addon though, so to understand the structures a bit better, you could also look at smaller ones first, such as EpubUserStyle and AuthorList.

Learning... ;-)
Question: If I want to make new menu-points in PRS+-settings: Do I have to add code to an existing file or is it possible to make a new *.js-file (similiar the file you gave me (analogus.js)? A |

Hi Analogus,
I noticed that in your "Zork" build you have included ztuu.z5. Does that game work on your reader? It doesn't work on mine. In fact, I have been very disappointed that hardly any games actually do play. I was very much hoping Adventure would play and it doesn't. I have only found Zork 1, 2, 3 and Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy work. Trinity might, but I think I need to do change the handling of the output to get it to display. But none of the newer Interactive Fictions, like ones created using Inform 7, work at all. This was particularly disappointing, since I am currently converting an old Pascal adventure game that I wrote when I was much younger using Inform 7. And now it looks like I won't be able to play it on my reader... Sincerely, Ben. |

@BenChen:
No, it's not working... I just tried the Zork 1, 2, 3 and assumed that nr. 4 will work too. I'll remove it from the CB's. And yes - lots of other games aren't working too. A. |

Analogus:
You can make a new js. As long as its basic structure is the same, and the total size of the scripts in the particular addons folder you put it in isn't too large, it should work. |

I give up. I'm not able to produce a simple menue (without any functions) with help of a new *.js-file.
A. Back again: Could anyone give me a short outline or the frame of a *.js-file for making a new menue in PRS+-settings? My idea is to make 2 menu-points: 1) Storing/Restoring/Clearing PRS+-settings (now working as standard-actions over buttons) 2) simple choosing of 2 or 3 different system-fonts over menu (now working as script in prsp.sh) Last edited by Analogus; 02-19-2012 at 07:43 AM. |

Hi Victor,
No, because Sim can't use libfskLoad.so which is needed to execute a shell-command. Thats why DictionaryCL isn't working in the Sim, too. |

Analogus:
I have now added a 'custom action' action (which will be renamed in a future revision), which works as a kind of 'launch pad'. If you activate it using a key/touch event, you get to choose which action (of all available actions) you want to execute. So you could use that to save/restore/clear your settings, if you've already made actions for them. |

@quisvir:
Testet it that minute. Man could say: ready! I included the functions in standard_actions yesterday. Nevertheless: I'm working on understanding the code to produce an extra menue. Sadly my knowledge is around zerro, but rising ;-) A. |

I have installed the "Nightly Built" several weeks ago and things run in general quite smooth.
I am a bit desperate with the crashing of the calendar and calculator (games are nice but not essential for me). Is there any hope for solving the apps crashing in near future? To have a calendar with entries visible at standby and shutdown is such a good utility to have. |

Quote:
I am assuming you have a 950? (The calendar works fine on my 650, you see.) If so, then there isn't much we can do although it is still on the "to do" list. The standard firmware on the 950 has a lot more code than the 650 (all the web browsing/wifi stuff) which means there isn't as much room for PRS+. Sincerely, Ben. |
