The last script my husband got was filled at the hospital pharmacy, and the lid can be used either way, child-proof, or not. This was for 20 pain killers.
His regular scrips from the drugstore are always in child-proof bottles. I don't think he's ever been given an option. We don't need child-proof bottles as a rule, and his prescriptions are always stored on a high shelf out of easy reach, in plain view in the kitchen. Some of the bottles can be tough to open. I'm not on any prescription medicine, but I would need non-childproof bottles if I was. |

Quartz is available in A LOT of of colors and patterns, including imitations of natural rock, so appearance shouldn't get in your way. My only minor problem with the appearance is that the pattern we picked has distinct little dots...I sometimes can't tell what's pattern and what's crumb.... |

I love the stainless-steel/subway tile look, but it would NEVER match in this house. It's a Santa Fe Territorial and there's only so much you can do with that. In a billion years I could never do the Subway Tile/Stainless here. But, I wish I could roll with SS counters here. :-) Thanks for the info on the quartz. Hitch |

It's your pharmacy. Ask them for easy open caps on your prescription bottles. They set it up in the computer that way and you always get easy open caps.

We went to watch some Little League baseball yesterday. Our oldest grandson plays on a team for his school, a private Christian school. They play other schools, teams from surrounding counties. The teams are a mix of schools, groups, locals, etc. ages 9-12.
Some of the teams are much more "talented" due to various reasons, but it's all good because they all love the game. In all the times we've been able to go games, nothing ugly has ever taken place, it's generally good sportsmanship all around. Not yesterday. Our team played a much more advanced team for their second game. The boys were all way bigger, and you could just tell they had more experience playing the game. That said, our team held their own and lost by just one run. But, that other coach. What a jerk. Screaming at the home plate ump, yelling at his own team, marching out on the field screaming at the infield ump. He even dropped the F bomb, conveniently turned away from the ump as he did so. The ump finally "restricted" him, so he had to leave the diamond, the LL equivalent to be grown out of the game. This teams spectators weren't much better, name calling, cursing, actually setting up chairs to watch the game directly in front of us, then getting huffy when asked to move. We have a player on our team who is on the bottom edge of the age requirement, so he is much smaller than some of the players. They called him a "little sh**" within earshot of most of us. The kid holds his own, is a decent batter and good at fielding. In what world does a grown many get his jolly's acting like a fool in front of kids? It's no wonder the team's supporters were acting like jerks too. So disappointing. |

Seriously Deskisamess! People suck.
I mean, I believe that probably 90% of people are decent, but that still means that about 1 out of every ten people in a crowd will be jerks like that, and they draw the attention. |

I'm still having throat problems. After the Prednison course the irritation decreased, but of the last week it has become worse again. So I just called the doctor. The assistant was surprised that no doctor has actually looked at my throat, that all contact has been by phone. I haven't spoken to my actual GP, last time it was a locum and this afternoon I'm talking to a doctor in training. My own doctor was booked full today and the assistant thought it was best if I was helped as soon as possible. She also made a note that I haven't been seen in person about this yet and that it might be a good idea to do so.
Around 4pm this afternoon I'll be called back, I'm going to make some notes before hand what I want to tell. I'm getting really fed up with the throat thing. It's tiring and stressful. |

The doctor agreed it was time to take a look at/in my throat. I was able to make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon.
I'm half expecting I'll go away with a prescription for antacids, he suggested today that it might be acid reflux. However, I don't think so, my throat is also bothering me when I have no acid reflux. But I'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it's something that is easily resolved. |

Yesterday, I got a freebie from my doctor.
I only wanted a scrip for digoxin. After he wrote it I queried, 'Don't you want my Medicare card?' His answer, 'Nah, for that, its more trouble than its worth.' He handwrites prescriptions, doesn't have a computer, or a receptionist, does home visits, and you don't need appointments. At a guess, I'd say he's in his mid 40s. Hong Konger. I guess I should have put this in the Praise and Thanks thread. Stay safe everyone. BR |
